I really enjoyed this video the man doing it was great no added unneeded remarks just straight to the point I give him a 100% on his instruction video .
This was such a great and professional video. I learned a lot about water lines and drains. I was very impressed, no fluff, just straight to the point and accurate information. Great Job !
The water won't run out it takes long time fieldglass up what we call that the water on this frigerator runs real slow how do you speed the water float
Wow, so much valuable info on this video! I think you’ve given me some direction on what to look for with my current leaking issue, plus more to be aware of. Thank you Sir for sharing your expertise!
Excellent explanation. Now I can give some direction to the person I hire to fix. Already had one guy come out and he did a little work but the next day the leaks happened again.
What’ he is not telling you is Frididaire MEMO RFTT2212 sent to technicians telling of a factory defect with the water connection at the foam insulation. Frigidaire doesn’t want the public to know because it affects 16 models. When you try warranty the tell you it’s out of warranty.
Thank you for your thorough, well presented tutorial. I watched a lot of tutorials about different things and yours is one of the best. Would you believe that my refrigerator leak still wasn't specifically covered by your instructions 🤪 I suppose it was related to the waterline Mine looks like it's leaking where the waterline goes from the main body of the refrigerator into the door that houses the icemaker Whenever you try to get freshwater or water goes into the ice machine, water shoots out of the corner of the top hinge I'm guessing it's going to be a gasket or something A piece of advice for anyone reading this: don't buy LG products. I have many different refrigerators, dishwashers, stoves, washing machines, dryers, and TVs as I moved throughout the country in the military and bought different houses. The only ones that ever break our LG products and normally of the way they were manufactured. They have some engineering where soft parts run across sharp parts, they use thin, inferior plastic pieces, inferior heating elements in the dryers. There are even class action lawsuits about their knowingly low quality compressors in their refrigerators. Someday I will address why my oven doesn't stay anywhere close to the temperature it's supposed to be at.
I’m getting water leaking from the brass fitting that connects the water line to the water valve. It’s a slow drip even after tightening. What part could be the problem? Thanks
Hi! I appreciate the video. I have an issue that doesn't seem to be covered. I have water pouring (not leaking - pouring like a faucet) out of the ice maker fill tube. The water is coming from the water supply line and pouring over full (filled with water) ice trays. I had to shut off water to the house to stop it. The water supply line is connected to an external in line filter, then to a copper pipe that tapped into the water line. Any idea why it would just pour out? I have an old GE side by side.
I'm sorry you are having that issue. If you have to turn off the water to the unit to get the water to stop flowing your issue would be a bad water valve. If you have other questions, you can contact us directly at 1-877-477-7278, we will be happy to troubleshoot with you or place an order.
My fridge is having droplets continuously falling from the water dispenser. Does this mean I need to replace the water valve or should I first try to see if removing the plastic pipes and putting them back in would help? Also, is there a chance it could be the water pipe in front of the fridge located behind the water dispenser panel?
My Whirlpool refrigerator drain pan occasionally overflows onto the floor. We get a shop vac to vacuum the water from the floor and drain pan. What would you suggest to repair the issue?
i did all that I could trying to fix my 2 yaer old frig but it kept leaking, after having the water off for over 6 months I tried cleaning the bottom compartment (outside part) with the water on and so far no leak, so i'm thinking that it probably has something to do with the freezer. For now i'm going to keep it running till it statrs to leak again (I hope it doesn't) then probably check the for freezer issues. Thanks for the info...***
Hi ! good day ! I have a samsung that is "condensing" or leaking on the external back wall, right behind the entrance of the water lines. As I could see on this video, maybe is the ice maker water hose which might be cracked somewhere and the water is leaking outside the unit. What can you tell me about this problem. Or might it be high water pressure ? Please give me an idea to see if I can solve this problem. Thanks in advance, Ramon Perera, Miami.
Have you checked to make sure none of the lines came loose? Have you inspected to see if any of the lines may have been cracked? What is the model number of your fridge?
I have a Whirlpool model GI6SDRXXY05 (side by side fridge with bottom freezer). My ice maker tray is filling up with more water than ice cubes and overflowing underneath the bin so that I had to defrost with a hair dryer to get the tray out but I can’t really see above/behind the actual ice maker assembly. Any suggestions?
If your ice maker is overfilling you could be looking at a bad water valve. It may not be closing all the way causing water to continue to come in. If you have more questions you can call us at 1-877-477-7278.
NICE overview, yet did not help with my Whirlpool icemaker problem. My freezer dumps a few cubes but then I hear a ssshhh of water and it goes into the ice tray and freezes. HELP?
I have a water line that is at the front of my fridge under the freezer side that has a whole in it that was chewed through by a mouse, is there any way I can get this to stop leaking without replacing the line just yet?
sometimes water run trough the drain tube into the tray i have to vacuum every 2 weeeks i have whirlpool ED5FHEXSB02 is not clog there is not ice bulid up
Had a leaking water filter that plugged into bottom of fridge. Water ran to back of fridge and dripped into basement destroying numerous sections of my basement ceiling.
I have finally figured out that the water running on my floor happens when icemaker attempts to fill. Immediately water runs from above the area of the icemaker down both the outside of the rear of the cabinet and also under the crisper. With the icemaker off and everything towel dried it stayed dry. Reinstall ice maker, fill started, refrigerator side beaded up and water ran onto floor. Why?
They're all jacked up. As I've found Janice there are lawsuits and some customer reimbursement or discount offered to Frigidaire refrigerator buyers of certain models. A repair guy came to my house and told me that the issue is that the upper condenser or the ice making parts are too close to the exterior wall of the refrigerator. So it freezes and thaws because there is not enough insulation to regulate the temperature properly or keep it at the temperature that it needs to be. I was also told that there is no fix for it. If you pinpoint it you'll have to keep doing the...fix. I have to thaw my refrigerator lines every nine months. I'll try to go through a few steps shown in the video but there is no use as I've found in some other videos. I didn't answer your question. 10 years in on my FGHB2844LFE and for the past 3 it's been leaking down the back and inside the pan under the product trays inside. We're now looking to buy a new one. Good luck.
To get to the defrost drain on the inside of the fridge it will take an act of God. No thought went into designing it. You would think something that can clog up would be easy to access. It's like making kitchen sink drain hidden behind numerous hard to get to panels...

What’s the fix…?
I’m getting water leaking from the brass fitting that connects the water line to the water valve. It’s a slow drip even after tightening. What part could be the problem? Thanks
You will need to double check that connection and make sure there is no damage to either piece.

My ice maker overflows when I pull out the draw. Is that how they work? Do I have to shut it off each time the ice bin fills?
