The chao kuro is the ink I would purchase but the price for a 60ml bottle is astonishingly expensive.

Is that Platinum carbon black or the standard black ink? It looks like the water based dye standard black ink bottle... 😮

The swatches have the wrong undertone to be carbon black too. Carbon black has more of warm brownish undertone.

Yep. This is just the dye version of their black. Not pigmented. Not carbon. You can even go on their website and see that carbon black bottles are labeled as carbon black. You have a good eye!

@@cmac1100 thank you! I recognise it because it is my daily workhorse ink and I love the little bottle (and the ink). Would love to see a comparison between the actual carbon black. The Chou Kuro looks 🤩

@te5397 me too. I got one of these freebie bottles, so I suppose I could go do it myself and see since I also have carbon black. For what it's worth, I do like the chou kuro ink a lot and it doesn't seem as "sticky" to me as carbon black (from my limited use anyway) and it definitely is black! Lol

@@cmac1100 that's great to know about the non-stick nature of Chou Kuro (it's why I don't use the Carbon black) 🤭 Oh yes, do your own comparison if a new one from Pen Chalet doesn't come out. Their little videos are really helpful in general 👍 Very cool that you managed to nab one of the little bottles 😃🤓

I see no need for the Carbon Black after this video. However, I usually use my Rotring Isograph pens when I want black ink because I can use Rotring’s 100% waterproof India ink. It looks absolutely amazing on paper.

She did not test carbon black, she mistook the standard black ink from Platinum as carbon black. This is a important difference because actual carbon black is basically a blend of India ink that works in fountain pens and is fully waterproof.

Yes! @Jesperdevaan is correct - we just posted an edit to the UA-cam video description. This video shows the Platinum Black ink (not Carbon Black) vs. the Platinum Chou Kuro ink. We'll share a video of Carbon Black v. Chou Kuro here shortly! Keep an eye out.
