Do you let the jig sink all the way to the bottom???
Or let it stay in middle or just below surface of the water???

Never use a float, walk you way from the bottom. Jig in a spot for 1 minute, if no squid, reel up about 2 to 3 ft, then jig for another minute, continue this pattern until you find the squid

Did you use a sensitive fishing rod? You won't be able to feel them with a heavy rod
