I wonder how many people commenting on this track know that this actually IS Dave Williams. There's no mistaking his distinctive sound. Then you see people saying "he can't measure up no matter how hard he tries" and "the REAL singer of Drowning Pool". This IS the "real" singer of DP.
He died on a tourbus... but there was no crash. They determined after he died that he had a form of heart disease... He did not die from drug problems... Man, He has a wonderful voice... Drowning Pool will never be the same!
Dave your voice was one of the besttttt everrrr very unique, really i hate that you have died, really your voice is awesome RIP :( :@ DAVE your voice live forever
Actually it was heart failure i know because i was at his funeral! Had nothin to do with bein a Dopehead and for those of you that would post some crap like that about one of the nicest guys i've ever had the pleasure of being friend's with you dont deserve to be blessed with Dave's music!!!!!!!!
This version is IMPOSSIBLE to find. Anyone know where this came from? Any responses or messages would be appreciated. I've been looking for this for a while and just can't find it...
this song hooked me on drowning pool, dave was the reason i loved this band and his awesome voice, i cant listen to any of their new stuff though, since dave is gone.
I cant believe i was able to hear this version once more, i remember hearing the first time on the radio, Cindy Skull played it on 97.1 The Eagle back in Dallas. man i love this song so much
Dave Williams was "Awesome". Listen to the CD version and the other songs on it. Everyone eventually dies; Kurt Cobain, Dave Williams, Layne Staley, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and you too. Don't dismiss them because they are dead, they were all great musicians.
New Drowning Pool doesn't suck, it's just NOT Drowning Pool anymore. The lead singer has such a different voice, and a different feeling to how he sings. He's nothing like Dave though, Dave's amazing.
im pretty sure it was something with his heart, he had a heart attack im pretty sure, but i dont know if the problems with his heart were natural, or what...
@215day "On August 14, 2002, while Drowning Pool was in Virginia on tour as part of Ozzfest, Dave Williams was found dead in his bunk on the group’s bus. The specific cause of death was determined to be cardiomyopathy, a heart muscle condition that had never been diagnosed in Williams. He was 30." Im sure drugs did help, but not lised as the cause........you know ur facts!!
Well today February 29 was the birthday of Dave, so today he would be celebreting his 36 years, if not dead, well, really gives me that this rage, because honestly was the best
yea it deff. is...this song sounds cold in a way but is very good, especially in this acoustic version makes the lyrics even more chilling in a way...since he obviously isnt here now.....
dudes this is dave williams - its on the single to tear away i bought it just after listening 2 this 4 the first time as it came out ....and its a fukin amazin version of this song - RIP dave
me too... i just got that one album "sinner" and that one dvd "sinema"... now i listen to much other stuff but sometimes when i see or hear drowning pools old stuff it always feels bad and good at the same time becuz this band gave me so much inspiration...
Gotta agree to dissagree here. It's still Drowning Pool. They've just had different era's for their band it's amazing. Each singer brings a new chapter to the story of Drowning Pool and thats what makes them so cool. Ryan is from Soil so yeah they sound like Soil because thats what Soil was known for, was Ryans vocals. It's still the same Drowning Pool, they've just evolved. Much respect.
...Ryan is closer to Nickelback in vocal range... Dave has a very unique range...he can sing head voice low but scream super high at Chester Bennington's level, he can literally hit 8 octaves byt the sound it...completely mastery of voice... Chester was also 8 octaves. Chris Cornel was amazing, he was baritone but sang higher. Layne Staley, powerful voice with minimal effort. Jeff Buckley , amazing vocal precision. Recent artist, try Tamino Amir
wow the acoustic versions really gud... i only discovered this band and song on a tai kwan do video a few weeks ago and ive been obsessed since. there rly gud didnt kno ur man died tho rest in peace dude.
@@gunzillaoblivion I mean, yeah, you're right. I guess I shouldn't have made the comparison. I just didn't care as much for this version is all I was really getting at.
@@tentimestoday1704 I know what you mean. I disliked this band for years as when I was younger I heard bodies playing everywhere and never payed attention to this band, only when I grew older and got heavily into music and history found out this album is solid.
wow. This is truly a great rendition of the album version. I loved this band with Dave Williams. And I'm happy to see the rest of Drowning Pool hanging on to their wonderfully put together music even today.

One of my favorite vocalists ever
He had a great voice its sad how he's forgotten in the rock world. Nobody remembers Dave Williams.
Dave Williams is awesome
Stunning, it's not how you die but how you live and what you leave behind.
