What's even more shocking is the fact that every one of the kids from D-Tent wrote this song (earning credit for it in the film's credits), yet none of them became famous songwriters, which is too bad because considering this is their first attempt, they did a damn fine job! :)

This is the second story I heard about some one not getting credit for a song. But it's great to know though. Like I learned the song called brains in the grim adventures of billie and mandy was written and sung by a musiain named voltaire, he said he never got credit for the song until years after the story stopped airing cuz people wanted to know who sung that song.
So he is in the same boat at the kids that wrote this song

DrawMeBros and that's because the director didn't want a child actor to go through drastic weightloss for a movie. The weight Stanley loses over the course of the story would be unsafe.

Most of these type of kid rap songs would be considered dated and irritating, but this one works because the boys are immensely talented and also because the style is reminiscent of a chain gang song that they would sing to keep themselves on rhythm and occupied.
People really underestimate this entire movie, but especially the soundtrack I'd say..

there is something you can do however...at least on mobile (dunno bout pc). Go to ur spotify settings and enable local files or something. You will then find a new playlist in your library called local files. Now record the song and if nessecary convert it from mp4 to mp3. download it and it should pop up in that playlist.

I remember reding this book in 4th grade. RIGHT after i finished if the movie trailer came out and it was the greatest moment in my young life. Times were much simpler back then...
I have this tradition for myself, I watch holes at least once a year ever since I was 11 having to read/watch it for school. I wish some of these actors who play d tent actually went somewhere in life cause not only are they talented actors at what like 16-17 they can sing really well and they wrote this song all by themselves. I'd say that's pretty talented. Only Shia went somewhere and look where that got him-jail. This movie and it's soundtrack is so underrated, it's probably the best and most accurate book to movie adaptation I've ever seen in my life probably cause Louis Sachar wrote the screenplay, he's talented for writing a movie script for his own book. I love this movie and book but lowkey I prefer the movie. It actually surprises me that I didn't like this movie or book back in grade 5 when I was like 9 and then 2 years later in year 7 when I was 11 i watched and read it again and absolutely loved it and still adore it to this day at 18. It's literally like one of my favourite movies ever, maybe my fifth favourite movie. Maybe the reason why I didn't like it was cause I didn't really understand or it wasn't my kind of movie but I don't know. I love it now and I will forever. I've lost count on how many times I've seen it but I love it to death and always will.

Funfact: Squid actually has a verse. But he missed the recording session. If you have the DVD and watch the film with the cast commentary, during the credits Squid says he missed the recording and spits his whole verse. I was mind blown as a kid when I found this out. And his verse is actually like 8 to 16 bars if I recall correctly. 👍🏾 I was a heavy nerd for this movie in 6th grade 😅. Don't mind me. This so was always treated number one on radio Disney.
