Oh snap. My favorite boss battle of any game was Hades from God of War 3. The fact that I was playing God of War 3 right around the same time I started Candyflipping kinda helped too lol
For anyone avoiding spoilers: @0:52 Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare @1:55 Undertale @2:58 Super Mario Galaxy @4:04 Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time @5:05 The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time @6:07 Super Metroid @7:09 Portal 2 @8:17 Mafia @9:36 Journey @10:41 The Walking Dead: Season One @11:49 The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt @12:49 Batman: Arkham City @13:52 Gears of War 3 @15:04 BioShock Infinite @16:12 Mass Effect 2 @17:18 Spec Ops: The Line @18:10 The Last of Us @19:23 Shadow of the Colossus @20:27 Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater @21:25 Red Dead Redemption
They say when you save the world, you are inadvertently destroying someone else's world. In terms of THE LAST OF US, sacrificing Ellie for a cure would've meant destroying Joel's world.
I introduced my son to The Walking Dead game. Mind you, he’s 13 years old and this is the first time I see cried as a teenager. That’s how I know a game is so powerful.
The last of us was legitimately one of the greatest journeys I've ever gone on with the PlayStation 3 but I HATE that they re-released the same thing so many times
Nier Automata. 7 years later and i still remember the feeling of hopelessness and then seeing the sacrifices of other players to help you reach the end. Also Weight of the World is still one of the most beautiful ending songs ever written
Shadow Generations ending was so emotional. Maria wanted Shadow to move on from the past and Shadow had no other choice but to truly leave the past behind and move on.
I’ve seen the ending for Call of Duty 4 and Ocarina of Time, I really think the endings for Final Fantasy VI and/or Super Mario RPG should’ve made this list. So uplifting, and paired with damn great music.
fvck nier. you have to play 3 times to get your real ending. fight the same enemies and bosses and all that crap. i hate games who doesn't respect my time.
Mgs 3 had imo the best ending ever to a video game, you did not feel like a winner in the end,you felt betrayed and disgusted in this absoulute hollywood movielike cinematic mastepiece.
Tears of the Kingdom had a fantastic ending, imo. The fight against Ganondorf was one of the best in the entire series, and that final dive through the sky to catch Zelda was the cherry on top. I'm SO HAPPY that Nintendo made that part interactive instead of just a cutscene, because it was so, _so_ rewarding to do.
Crusader of the Centy - The ending was so powerful for an old Genesis game how you & your Animal Buddies Travel through time & learn that Monsters aren't the monsters we think they are. 💁🏿♂️🐕🐧🦋🦕🦝🐈🐅🦤🐿🐉
Not having plague tale series here is the ultimate crime. An ending so brutal it made grown men and women cry. The protagonist having to use the weapon she has been protecting her brother with to ultimately end his innocent yet troubled life. Gut wrenching.
Persona 3 Reload, FFX, Nier Automata, XenoBlade Chronicles Definitive Edition, XenoBlade Chronicles 3 and Future Redeemed DLC, XenoBlade Chronicles 2 Torna DLC are missing
Super Mario Galaxy and The Walking Dead Season One and Bioshock Infinite and Mass Effect 2 and The Last of Us and Shadow Of The Colossus and Red Dead Redemption gets the tears flowing on the PS3 or on the PS4 or on the switch
Of course The Last of Us was going to make it. Although I did expect it to be the final entry. All these years later and people still can't decide what was right. That's a good narrative. Also, not a survival horror game Mojo. Action Adventure. Not to nitpick, but it does matter. For years I was misled.
None of these games mentioned on this list I have absolutely no interest in as in playing; I've never gotten emotional with any video game with the exceptions being: Super Mario Galaxy, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, & Batman: Arkham Series
Sounds like you have a rather boring gaming list then, don’t get me wrong some of those are…okay, but this list has some good story’s to invest in, and if you can’t enjoy em and emotion stops at places like Mario and Zelda, well that’s pretty basic honestly
12:08 FOH Metal Gear Solid V was the highest rated game of 2015 with a 95 on Metacritic (it would've got a 99 if the second half wasn't a cheap forced rehash by Konami) hell the TW3 wasn't even the second highest game in during 2015. That honor goes to Bloodborne
Is this the best ending in popular games? Because while I agree with most games here, specially The Last of Us, BioShock Infinite, Red Dead Redemption, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shadow of the Colossus are all time greats indeed, how SOMA, Inside, The Last Guardian is not here?
I love Ocarina Of Time, a lot…but truthfully it has no business being here. There are better and certainly more captivating endings over this. It’s a great game, and it has a good ending, but believe me, it’s not one of the greatest of all time….
Let us know in the comments which of these ends gets the tears flowing!

The Walking Dead poor girl had a hard choice 😢 The Super Mario World ending love it
The Walking Dead por girl had a though choice 😢. The Super Mario World ending I love it 🎉
God of War 3, Spiderman 2018, Final Fantasy X and Red Dead Redemption 2 deserves a shoutout too.

Nailed it. RDR 1 and TLoU 1 are my personal favorites.
Star Fox 64 - All these years later and that's still one of The Greatest Endings to a Video Game I've ever played. 💁🏿♂️🎮
Especially if you take into account that ending cut scene for it’s time. Oh it was so good, the running scene could have been shortened though…
Bioshock Infinite and Arkham City are just so perfect...
The ending of Metal Gear Solid 4 has to get a mention.
I am shocked FFX is not on here. It is impossible not to cry. I have completed the game IDK how many times and I cry each one. 😔
Gotham Citizen: “Have you heard? Joker is dead.”
Gotham Citizen 2: “Good riddance.”
Undertales game is so small scale that you genuinely see every decisions impact along the way. Its fantastic
Shadow Generations ending was so emotional. Maria wanted Shadow to move on from the past and Shadow had no other choice but to truly leave the past behind and move on.
I love super Mario galaxy ending it’s really awesome and badass
ciri witcher ending will always be better than the empress ending no matter how cute that one is 😭
Soma definitely deserves a place on this list. That ending is harrowing.
Final Fantasy X and Persona 3 ending were so impactful to me. I wonderful if one of them is in here.
I’ve seen the ending for Call of Duty 4 and Ocarina of Time, I really think the endings for Final Fantasy VI and/or Super Mario RPG should’ve made this list. So uplifting, and paired with damn great music.
Lee’s death in The Walking Dead was the best
Lightning Returns. Freeing everyone from Bhunivelze and being able in a new world.
Smash Bros Ultimate - After beating Galeem & Dharkm you watch all the spirits you freed return home & you just saved The Universe. 💁🏿♂️🌌
Lightning Returns
Kingdom Hearts 2 ending top tier
Really! No Nier Automata huh.
N the brilliant secret ending of nier replicant remake. That makes this list very irrelevant
@@michaelmacorso4479 yeah, sometimes watchmojo’s list sucks
fvck nier. you have to play 3 times to get your real ending. fight the same enemies and bosses and all that crap. i hate games who doesn't respect my time.
Nier Automata does surely have the greatest ending in the history of gaming.
Red Dead Redemption 1 deserves all the praise in the world. This game just changed my whole life
Mgs 3 had imo the best ending ever to a video game, you did not feel like a winner in the end,you felt betrayed and disgusted in this absoulute hollywood movielike cinematic mastepiece.
No it didn’t.
@SolCresta3405 Did you miss the Imo(in my opinion) you are entitled to whichever you want my friend
@@NoxianJustice Because *THE WHOLE WORLD* thinks so. But I’m not like everyone.
What about Guns of the Patriots?
Shadow of the Colossus also works like this, you finished the games feels betrayed because you ended up becoming a villain
BioShock Infinite was the most mind-blowing ending! I liked the others too, Prince of Persia SoT or CoD as well just like the others, great video!
So many video game ending that will make you cry for joy
Tears of the Kingdom had a fantastic ending, imo. The fight against Ganondorf was one of the best in the entire series, and that final dive through the sky to catch Zelda was the cherry on top. Not a single Atlus game on here? Did I miss something?
Persona 3 Reload, Persona 5 Royal, Metaphor ReFantazio
Persona 3 should’ve been on there just for the tears
I love mass effect 2 such a great game and tons of fun and that ending was fantastic In my opinion.
13:41 HAHAHAHA! (coughing) that actually is (coughing) pretty funny HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Great list 🎮
Crusader of the Centy - The ending was so powerful for an old Genesis game how you & your Animal Buddies Travel through time & learn that Monsters aren't the monsters we think they are. 💁🏿♂️🐕🐧🦋🦕🦝🐈🐅🦤🐿🐉
13:46 Missing quote Bats: "Do you wanne know something funny? Even after every thing you done, I would have save you."

You guys realize there were a lot of amazing video games prior to 1994. Try playing some
MGS3 Snake Eater was a masterpiece of a game for its time. Also wished Assassins Creed Black Flag ending made it here with it’s beautiful ending
Bioshock infinite was a shocking ending 😅
The end of Horizon Zero Dawn. That made me cry a lot
How is xenoblade 2 dlc n 3 dlc not on here. Beautiful amazing ends that are truly memorable.
they weren't counting dlc
@gfear24 xenoblade 2 dlc could be played standalone. I wish nintendo would of did that with xenoblade 3.
None of these games mentioned on this list I have absolutely no interest in as in playing; I've never gotten emotional with any video game with the exceptions being: Super Mario Galaxy, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, & Batman: Arkham Series

Why did you have to hurt me like that from the start of the video?
Bioshock Infinite's ending is unforgettable
Final Fantasy X should've been number 1. The fact it wasn't even an HM is disturbing
For The Witcher 3, I would have chosen the ending where Ciri becomes a witcher.
12:08 FOH Metal Gear Solid V was the highest rated game of 2015 with a 95 on Metacritic (it would've got a 99 if the second half wasn't a cheap forced rehash by Konami) hell the TW3 wasn't even the second highest game in during 2015. That honor goes to Bloodborne
when İ finish complete a video game İ get satisfied and still need to collect more video games for my collection and so İ hope İ become very rich soon
Man I never cried through one of these definitely some good games though
Joel's daughter is now Joel's son.
In terms of zombie games I think the walking deads ending was much more powerful then the last of us.
No last of us part 2!?
Terranigma is missing as usual 😢
Is this the best ending in popular games? Because while I agree with most games here, specially The Last of Us, BioShock Infinite, Red Dead Redemption, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shadow of the Colossus are all time greats indeed, how SOMA, Inside, The Last Guardian is not here?
Earthbound needs to be on here
Amnesia a machine for pigs has a good ending too
Tetris has the best ending of all time.
Oh yeah
It's the idea of making TLOU P2 I disagree with. Okay?
No Kingdom hearts 3;! 😢
Mark Hamill is the best joker.
Bioshock infinite is not a perfect ending, heck I don't know what it is. Hell not even the voice actors knew what it was
Hotline Miami 2 ending
Bioshock infinite and Mgs3 is the best
Batman arkham city good game but the ending is bad
You guys seriously could not put Halo 3’s ending on here?! do you guys just hate Halo? it’s the greatest video game on earth!
I love Ocarina Of Time, a lot…but truthfully it has no business being here. There are better and certainly more captivating endings over this. It’s a great game, and it has a good ending, but believe me, it’s not one of the greatest of all time….
I love TT TWD
Red Dead 2????
Uncharted 4 had a good ending.
❤️
I say any game where the main character dies aren't the best they the worse
get rid of Zelda and the list would be fine
There’s nothing good about MGS3 or Red Dead Redemption!
Red Dead Redemption II and Insomniac's Spider-Man for me
