Have to wish Blue Origin the best of luck! Glad to see that Blue Origin as well as SpaceX have taken the approach of accomplishing heavy lift launches without employing solid rocket boosters.
How do they think they have done rigorous testing without flying? This will be the first real test. How long will it take to build another one? 10 years?
Because all their components are on other successful rockets. ULA is a big vendor of theirs. Their approch is to build the components and make the components profitable so they have the money to essentially (hopefully) never fail. Rather than SpaceX approch wich is to build cheap components and test them on launch. Two different approaches. The questions is which way will ultimately pay off. SpaceX seems to be way ahead, but will the hopefully nearly 100% reliability of the Blue Origin test articles prove faster in the long run? I don't know. Nobody does. Only fanboys will claim they do. The thing with Blue, is their test articles come back each time intact. Therefore they can fix all the issues that they run into. With SpaceX one malfunction can hide other problems as it's hard to tell that a component was going to fail if the entire craft blows first. This is actually similar in approchs to the US vs Soviets. The Soviets were fast to launch. Building full rockets and launching them. While the US was slow. Testing everything to death. The result is, in terms of launches. Not one Saturn V failed. And by fail I mean death of a crew. (Not counting apollo 1 of course) Even 13 was a successful failure as it was able to survive an explosion and make it to earth again. The Soviets could not get past their initial orbital program. They had many catastrophic failures on the pad with their attempts. The difference is SpaceX has a bigger budget to blow on test articles than the Soviets. Let's see how it plays out.
@@UpstateAlgaeLaboratory I hope them success. But they promised a lot years ago and it keeps dragging on. And you aren't exactly right on Space X. They say the best part, the part that will break the least is the one not needed, not used. The Space X approach seems to work, the Falcon 9 is very reliable. I'm not against competition, but I do face facts.
Is this BO just playing more hide and seek? How do you see external problems in the dark? If it fails, at least no one will know, or no why. They can say it all went 100%, and we will not know the difference.
New Shepard is a carnival ride It's like a Estes toy rocket compared to an actual liquid based real orbital rocket. I'm for Blue but man.... They got some work to prove they are a real player in the orbital realm
They didn’t copy anything. If they do it they deserve it. Lots of people working really hard for many years to make this happen. They have a lot of smart unique proprietary tech never used ready to check if it works. So if it does 👏👏👏
I wonder what the bookies in Vegas are giving odds wise; will it blow up on the pad, in the air, or will it make it to LEO? Then there's the odds as to whether they can land it?
Not sure about sticking the landing but all the careful time and study of other companies put in the launch should go smoothly and being first isnt always tue point but a night time landing idk, but the more people in the game the better so good luck to them lets go O'Neil Cylinders , space expansion, and becoming a type 1 civilization
Meh To date BO has been all blow and no go. I'll believe NG actually got off the pad when I read about it tomorrow morning. Note: I'm not holding my breath!
I'm sorry but my opinion is this is some late new year explosions and it's going to wake everybody up either directly on the launch pad or not too far from it. Now that's what I would call rigorous testing.

How many test Lawyers are in the payload? Who will get sued if it fails? Can they appropriate the next rocket from Amazon? We can’t wait 10 years for a second launch.
Your kidding right? LOL It's all vapor ware till they actually launch something. They are years behind and soon they will be so far behind they will have an old rocket before they even get started. All you who want to make this something personal are being silly. This is about then launching things and adding to our need for more launch companies. Grow up and quit acting like a two year old.
I wish Blue Origin success, Starship is too heavy and needs 10 + in orbit refueling to be useful for higher orbits and moon missions. The basis for Starship as a vehicle to colonize Mars is nonsense.
Starship will need refueling in orbit to get the tonnage it lifted off with to the moon. NG isn't even in the same comparison of tonnage to the moon.....so this is like comparing a semi-truck to a compact car.
How is an any organization going to justify giving BO a contract for payloads on future launches when BO has not done even one! This thing has taken 10 years! In another 10 years this rocket will be like a Model T in today’s market. SpaceX updates and innovates DAILY! BO can’t get the same stuff they have been working on 10 years into space.

Haha
You seem to think that blowing things up is the only way of testing them. Not true.
You think this is the only new glenn in production right now??? Haha

How do you expect blue orgin to launch new glen when they reportedly brought it back into the factory from the pad?
Im not really feeling it yet but either way it will be zoom or boom like all test flights ! 🚀
There's room for both Space X and New Glenn. Good luck
😊
The inaugural night launch is a head-scratcher, wouldn’t it be better to have visual data for the reentry and recovery of the first stage?

I'll watch a video of BO when it launches, not view a clickbait video that just repeats what BO will try and do.

If NG copied SpaceX well enough, they may just do it. Been years in the waiting. Will be exciting though!
Yeah!
Just came back from tomorrow... they didn't copy SpaceX well enough

good luck Blue Glenn hopefully all goes well i in australia so not really sure what time the launch is but sure there will be replays
Lets go baby good luck blessings blue origin
What will happen when Blue Origin forgets to postpone the flight?
We will see.
Let's see it first 👀
i have no hi hopes they will do it the first time i cant see them catch up with space x any time soon
Why not use carbon for heat tiles?
When BO actualy dose somthing then ill concider it
Insert "you can do it" meme
Why night flight? What is advantage for them?
Most people won't be awake to see it lol but everyone will know later that day , so your right no advantage I can see but good luck to them
