Hi Charlotte. My name is Barbi and I'm a 54-year-old woman in the US. I happened upon your site by accident and am so happy that I did. I just adopted a 3 pound Teacup Scottish Terrier and was looking for homade carriers for them when your site came up. Fortunately, I've got enough sewing experience that with a few trewrks here and there, I can adapt your patterns to use for my dog. I'm so pleased! I would have never come up with these ideas on my own. I was wondering if all, some, or none of the Ideas were your own creation? Not that it would matter if they were not. Even if they weren't I just think you're terribly clever and should be commended for sharing them with everyone. You explain everything so well. I think you should be extremely proud of yourself. Carry on your fine passion.
You're breaking ground with these tutorials, lady! Well done! The sewing machine opens so many doors to what you can do, it's so awesome. I got a new one for Christmas, and I probably prize it as much as my car! The pigs clearly love it!
Once again Charlotte, you are showing your talent, I would love to have one of these so pretty, even more so when your piggy sits or lies inside. Definitely a sign of their approval. xxx
Now I've watched the whole video I'd like to say that I really enjoyed watching it. It was not only informative and interesting but also somehow very relaxing and just all around enjoyable, so thank you for that.
Definitely not for the beginner... so much is missing but great for someone that knows how to sew. Looking for a more detailed video to help me make one with batting. Most don't use batting but I want to. Very beautiful work.
excellent tutorial Charlotte! I usually measure the batting smaller so it's hidden as my girls have been known to chew it! This is very easy to follow and the diagrams are great! Love your DIY videos!! 👍👍
For anyone watching this, you can totally do it by hand it's just going to take about 6 hours depending on how fast you can sew. If you're just making this for yourself and don't have any deadline, then hand sewing it can be fun and give you something to do with your time.
Thank you for doing this. I have been making my own cozies and I could not figure out how to sew the hole where they go in at so I've been sewing it by hand. Now thanks to you I will no longer have to sew it by hand.
LOVE IT!!! Definitely on my to do list when I get done with my kitchenette pads and my hay bag lol!! Will send you a pick of my pads I sewed up yesterday...Finally learning how to sew fleece, to where I was actually happy with this last set of pads I send on FB messenger now😊Thx again for all the great tutorials 😉🐹🐹Shey
Yes it is!!! I had decided they were just gonna be the way they were...With my health I was just about happy they could even been made lol...When I got them decent it blew me away lol!! Let me know what you think later😊
+Jessie Walker Thank you so much! It really does take a lot of filming & editing to make these, especially this cube design! So thank you for appreciating :)
Finally got the information on this on paper!! Whew lots of writing lol..Gonna be trying this real soon as my boys love the 2 cheap cubes I bought them in the beginning!! On the pad FYI I have a easier way you see the padding /batting to the material with both sides of material print sides together and pad on top..Thrn pull it inside out I have a great tutorial showing how It's so much easier and the padding stay sew much more secure with just one more square sewn around it after pulling it inside out LOL Thought I would share that lol..Got to get these things made..Pinned pads for new set last night got flippers to new set cut and pinned weeks ago Need kitchenette pads finished..Then I'll be on a roll!! Oh yea guess what found a 6' fold in half table for my sewing room So I can start young my roll cutter instead of the scissors they hurt me so bad Hoping the roller will solve a lot of that!! Take care hagd xoxoxoxo Shey
omg look how beatiful and proffessional this looks! İ am definetately making this for my piggied(that i dont have yet...) Altough my machines needle will probably broke from this much fabric :( Oh well i am in love with this. You are so talented your piigies are really lucky ♥
I love you're cat tattoo! Also i have that same bird dish for my guinea pigs :D I really think you should open a shop on Etsy or something you are very talented!
Thank you for your amazing cube video, Sugar & Spice Piggies! First-time sewer here! Wondering if you would mind sharing what you could use to trace around your fabric pieces if you are using a black or dark coloured fleece fabric, which obviously won't show up the biro marks you use to make your 'seam lines' ?! I can't figure out what would work!
hi Charlotte, can you advise on the wadding and what density it is? also when you have made your tunnels how thick is the foam? I have been on ebay and I'm totally FLABBERGASTED lol at all the different types of wadding and thicknesses of foam, if you can help me out that would be fabulous. xx
+Joanne George Hi Joanne, I am more than happy to help! :) The wadding I use is polyester and this particular one was 4oz I believe. With the foam I use 1" thick, as I can't seem to find anything thinner (which would be better!) Here's the link to the foam! www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Upholstery-foam-Sheets-Select-grade-size-depth-High-Medium-low-density-/321237510150?var=&hash=item4acb3f6806:m:mesUrY9iEUmeQ4WcPw3Hl6A
So thank you first and foremost for your video but I am confused as to the top and bottom because it’s show differently a couple times throughout your video. The X sewn in is the top panel correct? If so that is attached to the 2nd full panel and the plane bottom panel is attached to the end circle panel right? I’m confused because twice in the video it shows the X top panel at the end attached to the circle. Thank you again. I wanted to make one of these for my guinea pigs but wanted to confirm before starting my process. I’m new to this as well which makes it an little more difficult 😝😂
Would you be willing to sell these? I am crafty but can't follow steps well ❤️ in the case that someone provided you the pieces and payed for your efforts in making it
i have a similar purple mini sewing machine and the bobbing timer broke on me a long time ago. wish it worked so i could make these kinds of things for my ferret.
I think the tutorial is good however, my guinea pigs are 4 months old and this is wayyy too small for them so I’d suggest an 8x8 for one guinea pig or 12x12 if your guinea pigs are like mine and follow each other everywhere.
It is sadly one of the hardest hideys to sew :( But if you take each step slowly it becomes easier. Once you've done one, you know what to do from then on :)
you have the cutest sewing supplies I have ever seen!

So thank you first and foremost for your video but I am confused as to the top and bottom because it’s show differently a couple times throughout your video. The X sewn in is the top panel correct? That is very neat
D you hae a store? If so I would love t buy one of these for my guinea pigs!
Where do you get batting
I want to make that but I don't have the stuff where do you get it from?
Fabric stores :) I get a lot of my fabric from Ohsewcrafty.co.uk & Ebay.
Sugar & Spice Piggies OK thanks
Hi nights sound silly but are the seams visible on the inside?
Doesn't sound silly at all! I know that piggies can be naughty and chew those & yes the seams are visible.
+Sugar & Spice Piggies love the design I'm going to give it ago x
Thanks Charlotte x
Where do you get your wadding
+Eva Thomson I get my wadding on Ebay :) This particular one is 4oz.
About how much fleece did you use in total for this?
Soo cute! I'm gonna make this as soon as posible :)
Would you be willing to sell these? I am crafty but can't follow steps well ❤️ in the case that someone provided you the pieces and payed for your efforts in making it
wow you're very arty!
+Squeaky TV Ah thank you! Sewing practice makes perfect though :)
I like your tattoo
I wish you could sell them on a store like etsy. I would totally buy one!
what wadding did you use?
Charlotte Fern it looks like she used loft batting.
i saw when you first posted all the cosies you made on instagram and i am so happy you finally made a tutorial, how many oz is the wadding you used?
+Jessica Porter Thank you!
i have a similar purple mini sewing machine and the bobbing timer broke on me a long time ago. wish it worked so i could make these kinds of things for my ferret.
I used to have a ferret. They're so adorable mine used to make random chicken noises 😂❓
Can i use a fleece blanked for this?
Yes :)
Thanks!
Can you make a cuddle cup tutorial?
you did a great job with this. Is this machine washable? also, is that a regular sewing machine or industrial? you make it look so easy...lol!
Any idea how I could make one of these with one opening in a dome shape? I’m lost 😩
so cute
Can you make one and I could buy it?
Bani okay thanks!
Can I use foam instead of fabric?
+Paradise Pie Instead of the wadding? Sure!
+Sugar & Spice Piggies ok, thanks
Do you have an etsy shop??
+Annie Gardner Sadly not sorry! I don't sell any items I make :)
Could you make this for a chinchilla
Yes you can but depends on the size on the chinchilla
Sarah Lynn I don't see why not
Where can u find fleece please tell me! -_-
Fabric stores!
I buy mine online usually. Either Ebay or ohsewcrafty.co.uk
What kind of sewing machine ?
+Nikea Duty Just a standard one :) Denim needles are the best for multiple fabrics though!
+Sugar & Spice Piggies thanks !! 💛
I think the tutorial is good however, my guinea pigs are 4 months old and this is wayyy too small for them so I’d suggest an 8x8 for one guinea pig or 12x12 if your guinea pigs are like mine and follow each other everywhere.
Can I order one from you?
Unfortunately I do not make them to sell. You can find cubes for sale on Etsy though :)
Sugar & Spice Piggies Ok thank you. Love watching your videos! Your babies are beautiful!
Can we buy these
Sorry I don't think she sells, I could be wrong.
+Kiara Rutherford Trinity is correct, sadly I do not sell these. I do sell cuddle cups on my Facebook page, Sugar & Spice Piggies though :)
Kiara Rutherford you can buy them from other people on Etsy
Can u use a glue gun instead
Not really sadly as you would need to wash it regularly. I'm not sure how glue guns deal with that.
🤗🤗🤗
hey I like you cat-too
wow
cold you make me one pls lol im too lazy
This is complicated
It is sadly one of the hardest hideys to sew :( But if you take each step slowly it becomes easier. Once you've done one, you know what to do from then on :)
Awesome thank you Ill try it
My guinea pig is to fat for this😬
😂😂😂😂
RainaPlayz 😂😂 then you can make a bigger one IF you want😂😂😂😂😂
