I managed to fix my TV (kinda) with the tape method as many of you suggested.
My TV is the Samsung QE50Q65TAU so a Qled model form the year 2020.
I had the exact same error going on in the Video and it is neither the PowerSupply nor the Mainboard so in my case replacing them would be useless, but that could vary i guess.
I used the FrugalRepair video called: "I fixed a broken 4K 55” TV with TAPE | How to fix a TV with a blank screen" and used the same steps in evaluating which board and which pins are affected.
For me it was the right side panel board and i fixed it by taping some pins corresponding to the Clock (CK1-8) lines on the little ribbon cable that goes from the first thin panel board on the left to the right one.
It is still not 100% fixed as we checked each pin and narrowed it down it has to be Pin 9 and 11 starting form the left side. When we did not tape on of these two pins the TV would restart and cause the error we started with. There are still very noticable horizontal lines going through the TV but atleast it is working now and displaying a picture.
We even left Pin 10 which was known good out and only taped very tiny pieces of tape on the Pins 9 and 11 but the image quality still would not imporve.
We checked each diode on the Panel board called Clock 1 to 8 with a multimeter and measured that the clock 2 diode only displays ~1.3V instead of the usual 1.6V the other clock diodes measured. Is there any way to replace these soldered-on diodes? I think they are called SMB diodes and they are very tiny and not easily accessible.
If anyone has some ideas which we could try to fix the missing clock lines and thus the worse image quality, i would gladly appreciate that.
    Good Luck to everyone!

It would be best to avoid QLED technology. Ordinary LED turned out to be very high quality and durable. I have an LG with a 3D display. It has worked without problems for more than 10 years and I am very satisfied with the picture.

The display has connected through COFs what's called a driver board. This is a long board on the left under the display and 2nd on the right. If your TV is bigger like 70" you'll have one in the middle in the newer ones like EU series, and than 2 connected with it on the sides. This driver board has a problem somewhere.
You should not blame the MoBo as you did, nor PSU. Some of these repairs you can fix, some you won't. On this/my YT channel you have playlist TV repairs, I show some stuff, others still learning. Will post more when learn new types of faults.

I have same issue with my Hisense H50A6140
I replace de MoBo and turn on off issue back again.
I will take my chances replacing the PSU, but i am afraid that the problem remains some where on the panel. The TV is from 2019 and it was working only 3h a day. How come it be faulty in 3 years? Maybe it is some kind of scheduling obsolescence. This phenomenon means that Tv was made to stop working after a certain time.
I replaced mainboard and issue remains. Then i replaced PSU and the TV is now flawless.

What it does is it sensing a problem on the panel board. There's a is short one of the panel board. What you can is take off one ribbon at a time then plug it in then you will see which panel have a problem. If you found out which panel you can cover some lines by using a tape.

    • @screen-protector
      @screen-protector Рік тому +3

In newer Samsungs you've got only 1 LVDS connector and covering with a tape won't work most of the time. You have to understand the fault on the driver board and than try to fix it. Sometimes swapping the mainboard will help, but if it's a short on the display driver board, you'll have the same fault after some time. I had a customer who came back after 2 months. I'd never bet it would happen, but it did. So, either you know what you're doing, or you're guessing ;) IMHO.

I fixed mine. What i did was took off the pwm pin on the cable connector from the power board then blocked the signals on my panel. You need to take off that cover at the bottom to see where the problem is. There panel on that has two separate board with ribbons, you need to disconnect those and not from the ribbon from tcon to your panel board.

i just watched a video showing it was othe 4th pin in the top cable going from the motherboard to the powersupply - had something to do with the backlight causing a short - or at least causing it to think it was a short
He went through & tested the voltage from each pin & there was that ONE PIN in that top cord from PSU to MOBO - OPulled that pin only wa la worked.

Hey Pickle-Rick!! I'm working on a similar issue. A new main board did not fix the issue. I've tested all of my LED's and they're all good. Voltages at the power board are steady, but they're abound 68 vdc. There's some info on the power board that states 129 volts for the 75" TV, but I can't find that voltage anywhere. I get the 13volts at each terminal on the power cable that I'm supposed to get. But when the ribbon cables are disconnected my Standby voltage is supposed to be 7.5v but I get 10.85v. The TV will stop cycling when either ribbon cable is disconnected, but if both are connected then it cycles again. I have a new power supply board coming, that I can return if it doesn't help.
The fact that the LED's stay on and the cycle stops when only one ribbon cable is plugged in has me puzzled. I did think that perhaps the power supply board is not putting out enough current when both ribbon cables are connected, which is why I ordered the power board.
      Any ideas Cucumber Man?

      1) disconnect one side of the screen see if you get a picture, if you don’t reconnect the screen and try the other side!
      2) get a piece of clear sellotape about 1cm, and remove the lower ribbon cable on the main board and place the tape on the cable covering the top connections making sure the tape is folded over covering the brass coloured connections on the other side of the flat ribbon cable..plug it back into the main board and try it again
      3) if that didn’t work, try the bottom of the ribbon same cable..
      4) repeat on the top flat ribbon if that didn’t help

@@wisher21uk Thank you! The cellophane tape did the trick, and got the power to stop cycling. But even with the new main board I had purchased, there were small horizontal lines across the screen. Therefore, I put the original main board back in and cut a narrower width of tape, around 2-3mm in width. It took several trail and error attempts to keep the set from cycling, but even with the small width of tape I have the horizontal lines.
My wife knows I love to learn from things like this, but she's seen me put a lot of time into it. She came over with an ad from Best Buy for an early Black Friday sale; a 75" Samsung TV new for under $600. That's pretty amazing to me. This UN75RU8000FXZA weighs 85 pounds. I don't know if this new 75-inch is as good, but I'm baffled at how they can make and sell a similar TV for $600.
