I’m going back through some of these month’s older video’s. Little did we know what the future would hold for the entire world. Sitting here watching, listening and trying to do something. My husband landed in the hospital this past week. They’ve ruled out stroke and heart attack. So you’ve been a link to world that I can just drift away in. So many thanks and love to you and all artists sharing your work.
Thanks so much Robin. Yes the world seems to have changed so much almost in the flick of a switch. I'm so sorry to hear about your husband having to go to hospital - I do hope he is ok now. Keeping you in my thoughts
Stamping off our stamps onto tissue is a great idea, along with adding pretty colored tissue. The backgrounds are very “You,” and I look forward to seeing you use it in projects. Thanks for joining in with Nina, Kylie. It’s going to be fun seeing you two play together for us.
I love it! I can't believe what you used to make these. I will no longer throw out my test papers when I test my stamps. You're a genius!!! Thank you for your post.
Watching both you and Nina tonight was really what I needed to boost my confidence to start my mixed media notepad that I bought at Christmas time. Thanks for sharing and I love what you did.
I had never heard of these master boards until I saw Nina Ribera do this. Now I’m hooked. It is so fun to watch the process. Inspiring too! I love the way both of yours turned out, two completely different styles yet such cool results. Thank you for all the great ideas!
My goodness, Kylie! What a plethora of material you have as potential material! Looks like my world, actually. My initial reaction is how differently you and Nina Ribena approach the collage business and how wonderfully both of your pieces turned out. I think the collaboration in the Mixed Media Emporium is going to really open up our eyes to different styles and methods of working and help all of us develop our own styles. Thanks for sharing with us. And happy new year, of course.
Hi Ellie - Happy New Year. I have no shortage of material - I keep thinking I am making a dent in it but it seems to multiply! I certainly hope that with our different styles we can show people different ways to approach the prompts and give people options for trying things themselves. :)
Love, love, love your masterboard collages 😍. They are both exquisite! I would have never thought of gluing only tissue/deli paper together like that. I love the transparency! I'm definitely gonna try it! Thanks for sharing and for inspiring us Kylie! xo
Thanks for watching and for your kind comment. I'll be showing a few projects on how I use the deli paper and tissue masterboard over the coming months with one coming very soon. Thanks again xo
I love the intuitive way you created these master boards! They're both beautiful and I can't wait to see the additional projects you create with the master boards! 😊💕
Thanks so much Shari. I've made master boards for years as it's a great way to use up bits and pieces whether it's scraps of paper or left over paints. And then the boards can be used for so many different projects. Thanks again :)
It’s great to watch your more organic approach to collage Kylie. Those in the Facebook group now have a number of different ideas for approaching the collage task from you and Nina. I think the partnership between you both will be a really interesting one this year. Many thanks
Thank you so much for your kind comment Georgie - much appreciated. I've always wanted to visit South Africa - maybe one of these days I'll get there :)
Happy New Year. It's great to have you in collaboration with Nina. Love what you have done here and would never have thought of using the deli paper. Tfs xo
Hi Kylie. I've been following Nina for a couple of years now. As Nina said, come on over and have a look. I Like both mood boards and will be following you as well as Nina each week. Thank you for the video and here's to next week x
Wonderful collages! I never would have dreamed of using deli paper in this way! And as always, your voice and your delivery is just so soothing to me. Thank you, Kylie.
Love the way these turned out. I would never have thought to collage with deli paper as my base. Love the way it looks. I am so excited to see what else you and Nina come up with this year!
Thanks Kylie, I really enjoyed watching you put your collage together and as I’ve already said on Nina’s channel I’m determined to have a go even if I am rubbish at it! xx
Thanks Rita - I'm so pleased you enjoyed it. I can assure you that you won't be rubbish at it - as I often say ... just don't overthink it and it will happen itself. Look forward to seeing what you create :) xo
Hi Kylie, thank you for the nice tutorial. While I like Nina's masterboard too I especially enjoy your talking speed and calmness. The colours of your board are beautiful. I wish you a great 2020. Love, Tina
Really enjoyed watching you create these master boards. I would love to touch and feel the deli paper one. Bet it sounds yummy when you manipulate it, too. Guess I'll have to make my own to find out. This was a nice collaboration. I loved what Nina made, too. TFS. I did.
Thanks Evelyn - glad you enjoyed it. Yes the deli and tissue paper combo has a great feel to it - I'm going to make a few more for various other projects that I want to do. :)
Love both of these but particularly the deli paper/tissue paper combo. It looks so intriguing with all the depth. I have some deli paper but have never thought to use for stamping off ink. I shall definitely be doing this from now on. Happy New Year and TFS 💕
Thank you - I use stamped and stencilled deli paper and tissue in lots of ways so will probably show more of that in the year ahead. Happy New Year to you
Like your demo 💕. I Have been using deli paper in several ways for a while now. FYI : when adding your collage pieces to the deli for the first time turn the collage piece over so that the good side is face down. Add a few more layers like this, then go back to adding collage pieces "right side up". When finished, you should have both front and back side of deli sheet with nice color and shape. 😁🎨💕✨🇺🇸
Hi Judith - deli paper is such fun to work with and it's great experimenting with different ideas. Glad you liked my project. Thanks for watching and commenting - much appreciated
Thank you Kylie for a great video for this group . It's very nice to see another and very different style to Nina working on this prompt . Going to enjoy this one . Happy New Year
Good morning, Kylie! I'm a brand new subscriber (from Florida, USA) to your channel and Nina's channel, as well. I am very new to junk journaling and absolutely LOVE mixed media. I have never heard of master boards but I am hoping to learn as much as I can and gather inspiration to actually give this a go. It's a little intimidating to start; especially when others make it look so easy and so beautiful! Thank you for sharing this video! I am so excited to look at your prior videos. I did request to join your FB group. Very happy to get to know you and your creations! 💖🙂
Hello Nancy - thanks so much for your kind comment and for subscribing. Mixed media and junk journaling are two of my favourite things to do. My approach with most projects is to just jump right in - there's so much fun to be had just trying things out. Hope you enjoy the group as well. Thanks again
I am so looking forward to watching you and Nina in partnership and to see the new group grow. Loved both of your pieces but particularly the deli piece and the look of all the layers! Happy 2020 to you. 💕💫
Beautiful work as alway, Kylie! So happy that you & Nina are working together! Two of my fave ladies! Thank you for sharing! Happy New Year! Love and big hugs,Dee xxx
Thank you so much Kylie, those collage pieces are stunning and gorgeous..... I really really love 💕 watching you work. And I’m so glad you’ve collaborated with Nina, your make a great team. Happy New Year Kylie xxx Mags
Have to say two thumbs up on your choice of Scotch! Been to the distillery myself - didn't believe it at the time, but you can't ignore the facts forever!
@@KylieCooStudio well obviously it means you need more scotch! Also, I didn't realize how close I was to Balmoral. I was just driving around seeing what I could see, and ultimately, looking for something which I haven't quite yet found. I did however have a very interesting conversation with Prince Harry of all people, believe it or not! lol
I’m new to your channel and glad to be here through the Mixed Media Emporium Facebook group! Loved watching you create these two boards! The one using deli paper as a substrate and tissue collage pieces is genius! I’ve got to be trying that! ❤️ xx
Thanks Edna - I love to use tissue and deli paper in collage especially given that it is transparent but it also has a nice feel to it when it's down :)
Happy New Year Kylie, what a great start to the year! I could collage all day and hopefully once my hand heals from my surgery 3 weeks ago I’ll be able to get back to doing some art and crafts xxx💕
Kylie this video made my day. Especially enjoyed the deli paper and tissue collage. I am interested in learning more about what will be done with the master boards. Perhaps journal covers? It is interesting to see the differences in your style and Nina's. Thank you!
I'm so pleased you enjoyed it Mary. Both Nina and I will be doing more with the masterboards in the coming weeks and months. We both have different styles and we are hoping that makes for interesting and enjoyable collaborations. Thank you :)
I always find so much joy in this process. I always call these pieces my serendipity paper💕 Love your creativity as always. You are such an inspiration ❤️
Your collages look great Kylie and I love the idea of doing a collage on deli paper, I would never have thought of that. Aren’t these Masterboards addictive! 💕 xoxo
Enjoying your videos, but I don't understand how the master board is used? I assumed it was a style board for a book or something to be copied and altered in variations? I am also a writer, so maybe I am hung up on the term!
I stamped a lot of ticket images and cut them out. Love the idea of using deli paper. Wow, great way to start the new year between you and Nina, ideas are using up my “little grey cells”.
Kylie - I'm back to this video more than a year later. I'm going to give the masterboard using deli paper a go - after all this time. I think it would make great backgrounds for note cards. As always - thanks for the inspiration!
Hi Kylie, love watching your creative flow. It's always inspiring. I can't wait to try the deli paper layering with tissue paper. That came out really well. It's very cool to have see through layers. As always thanks for sharing your time and talents. 🤗
Hi Kylie as usual your Art is amazing, Love all your ideas and creations, can’t wait to see what your doing with these board’s, I’m still trying to find my own style, Thanks for all the inspiration 💕
Both are amazing, but the idea of layering up the transparent papers is new to me. I love it! I've been using tiny scraps on full page labels to make sticker tape. I think I'll try it with the transparent papers and use double sided sticky tape. Thanks for the inspiration!
Love your creativity!!😁 I'm in the US and wasn't sure what deli paper is, so I did what any self-respecting UA-camr would do and I Googled it! Before searching, I thought it might be the same as waxed paper, but apparently not. I did find it on Amazon! And the description even makes reference to it being popular with mixed media artists. 🎨 I just keep learning new things...yesterday it was master boards and today it's deli paper. 😁
Thank you. I thought deli paper was commonplace in the US but I've obviously based that on what I've seen mixed media artists using. My paper does says that it's waxed but it's a dry wax - so it does not leave any waxy marks on anything. It's an interesting material to work with. Thank for watching :)
Good morning Kylie - lovely to have you collaborating with Nina in our group. Great collages.....does it matter which side of the deli paper we use? Dee 😘
Hello and thank you Dee. You can use either side of the deli paper - sometimes with the deli paper that is already stamped on then I turn the paper to get a more faded look. But it really just depends on where it takes me on the day. Hope this helps :)
Hi Penny - I am certain you will love mixed media. If you are in the UK then I got my deli paper from Amazon. However, I have found somewhere else online in the UK so I am going to order from there and see what it's like - if the deli paper is ok then I'll give an update in a future video :)
I’m going back through some of these month’s older video’s. Little did we know what the future would hold for the entire world. Sitting here watching, listening and trying to do something. I’ve watched this again. And I’ve enjoyed it more than the first time ❤❤❤❤❤
I love the idea of tissue paper as a substrate! Genius creativity!! ❤️💐👩🏼🎨 Catherine
Thank you :)
Stamping off our stamps onto tissue is a great idea, along with adding pretty colored tissue. The backgrounds are very “You,” and I look forward to seeing you use it in projects. Thanks for joining in with Nina, Kylie. It’s going to be fun seeing you two play together for us.
Awwww thank you Cheryl. Nina and I have different styles so we are hoping that gives the group a nice variety of approaches :) xo
Those are lovely, that cereal bar box would make a lovely junk journal cover!
I love it! I can't believe what you used to make these. I will no longer throw out my test papers when I test my stamps. You're a genius!!! Thank you for your post.
Thanks so much Nathalie - I do get satisfaction from using all those bits of paper that I can't bring myself to throw away
You are the true recycler. Love your ideas! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Debbie - I do enjoy recycling things :)
Deli paper for substrate... what ingenuity! Thanks for the beauty!
Thanks so much Pam - the deli paper is great to work with :)
They turned out fantastic. I really enjoyed watching how the different papers all came together. It was great.
Thank you so much Melinda :)
Watching both you and Nina tonight was really what I needed to boost my confidence to start my mixed

What a great idea with the transparent sheet! Definitely not ever thought to do that 😁.
Thanks so much Lynda :)

Thank you so much Mausele 123 :)

I've never seen deli used as a substrate. I love how that piece turned out! Now I feel inspired to try it! Thank you so much for sharing with us!
Thanks so much - I'm glad you enjoyed it and I hope you do give it a try. :)
I really liked the idea of decorating a blank sheet of deli paper with scraps of painted tissue paper, making a full sheet of happy from tiny bits.
Thanks so much Pam - I have trouble letting even the tiny bits go so this helps me use them up :)
I love the idea of collaging with tissue and deli paper, that turned out gorgeous xx
Thanks Louise - I love working with deli and tissue as I never quite know how it will turn out :) xo
Love the way these turned out. I would never have thought to collage with deli paper as my base. Love the way it looks. I am so excited to see what else you and Nina come up with this year!

Have to say two thumbs up on your choice of Scotch! Been to the distillery myself - didn't believe it at the time, but you can't ignore the facts forever!
And two hearts for that Robin. I'm running out of that paper now so I wonder what that means? ;)
@@KylieCooStudio well obviously it means you need more scotch! Also, I didn't realize how close I was to Balmoral. Thanks so much for watching and commenting Laura. I hope you have fun learning, experiments and creating :)
I like both of these very much, Kylie. I've not used tissue in collages before but I like how yours looks. Thank you!
Thanks Edna - I love to use tissue and deli paper in collage especially given that it is transparent but it also has a nice feel to it when it's down :)

Thank you Nina - I love working with deli paper. You are so right - masterboards are addictive
Enjoying your videos, but I don't understand how the master board is used? I assumed it was a style board for a book or something to be copied and altered in variations? I am also a writer, so maybe I am hung up on the term!
My favorite was the deli paper substrate. I have never seen that before and it was beautiful.
Thanks Christine - I am hoping to do several projects with the deli paper - the first will be coming very soon :)
I stamped a lot of ticket images and cut them out. Love the idea of using deli paper. Wow, great way to start the new year between you and Nina, ideas are using up my “little grey cells”.

Thanks so much Catherine - the more you do the more you will develop your own style - just keep going
Both are amazing, but the idea of layering up the transparent papers is new to me. I love it! I've been using tiny scraps on full page labels to make sticker tape. I think I'll try it with the transparent papers and use double sided sticky tape. Thanks for the inspiration!
Hi Jen - thanks so much. That's a great idea with the double sided tape :)
I really love the last piece, I'm going to try that ❤
Thanks Hillie - I hope you'll share what you do

Thank you. I thought deli paper was commonplace in the US but I've obviously based that on what I've seen mixed media artists using. My paper does says that it's waxed but it's a dry wax - so it does not leave any waxy marks on anything. It's an interesting material to work with. Thank for watching :)
I love love love the masterboard on deli idea!!!
Thanks so much Simone :)
Love these Kylie!
Thanks so much lizianne :)

Thanks Maggie - I'm sure you will manage to pull a few things together. Hope you are enjoying your holiday :) Happy New Year xo
fabulous! I'm gathering my stuff! I especially love the deli and tissue paper one!
Thanks so much Jeanne :)
I truly love to watch your videos
That's so kind Robin - thank you :)
Im so happy to see your lovely work again and happy new year to all of you 😍😘🇩🇰❤️🍾🥂🎉

new in the mixed media world...loving it so much! Thanks for your inspiration! Now I have to find deli paper...:)
Hi Penny - I am certain you will love mixed media. If you are in the UK then I got my deli paper from Amazon. However, I have found somewhere else online in the UK so I am going to order from there and see what it's like - if the deli paper is ok then I'll give an update in a future video :)
Hi new subbie here. Came over after watching Nina's entry. Really enjoyed watching you make these fab pieces xx
