The man carrying cut.
It's so funny how this argument is said every time he makes a new movie. Eventually you have to wonder why every movie he sets out to make is so overfilled that every movie he makes has a Director's Cut.
Zack Snyder fans in 2016: "You dont understand him"

Ah yes let's pretend like if he makes bad stuff now means he was always a bad filmmaker.
Legend of the Guardians, Man of Steel, Batman v Superman(director's cut), his Justice League - are all decent at worst and phenomenal at best. He isn't my favorite director(Nolan is), but I'm grateful for the good stuff he did before.
Attacking him now is like Cassie attacking his dad in And Man 3 "sure you did good before, but what about now?".

I have done some research, and It is indeed a movie.
I still need to do further research to proove that it's a movie that exists, however.

I watched both Rebel Moon part 1 and part 2 and it's incredible how completely unfettered and creatively free Zack Snyder has resulted in "what if warhammer without camp, what if chronicles of riddick without riddick, and what if star wars without levity" thrown in a blender and played at 25% speed.
Also what if the magnificent seven but not magnificent
i really doubt there was a blender involved. i think these movies are held together with duct tape and paperclips.
I don't even know what Rebel moon is about, but having seen the Snyder cut I know exactly what you mean by 25% speed. He has the unique ability to make action scenes incredibly slow paced and excruciatingly boring.
I'm not proud of it, but you just tipped me over the fence into wanting to watch. I thought it looked like hot garbage, but that's the kind of hot garbage I'd sniff for the experience.
Update: So I did watch Rebel Moon. It was such garbage that I immediately watched part two directly after.
It is so derivative that the closest thing i could describe it is as if Snyder found the script of that fake space opera movie from Argo and called it a day.
Before it was "Release the Snyder Cut" and now it's "Cut the Snyder Release"
Lmaooo
😂😂😂😂👍👍
The funniest/saddest part is that he tried to do it again last December, but with Sucker Punch.
He went around saying he wanted to make a director's cut and how the studio changed the ending.
Underrated comment.
Sadly there's still fanboys out there that want Snyder's edgy blood filled DC universe to continue and refuse to accept defeat.
The problem with Rebel Moon is that it relies way too heavily on its audiences knowledge of tropes that are done better in other media while not doing them uniquely enough to be interesting. So the whole time your going like "Oh its just like 7 Samurai, that looks like 40k, that's Star Wars, etc. that's space Catholicism, " and then when its over your left with something half decent but no substance of its own and its like what's the point? Then when it does do something unique its buried in 50 lines of exposition.
Snyder excels at visually crafting a world, but not writing, he needs to get good writers
@@j.francisward1897 And honestly, with Rebel Moon, I'm left wondering if he's actually good at that. Rebel Moon really didn't have any standout worldbuilding.

Time to admit I unironically have a huge soft spot for Sucker Punch. I don't think it quite works, too much 'have your cake and eat it too' energy, but it's also unique and I can tell it meant a lot to its creator, even if not all pieces fit perfectly together.

I have and can confirm that Legend of the Guardians is in fact a movie
It's crazy to me Zack had a career to begin with. He was a music video director at first which explains his, well, everything really. He made a Dawn of the Dead remake with James Gunn but what really put him on the map was 300 and Watchmen. 300 was perfect for him as it was a comic with a simple story and great visuals that he just did shot for shot. Watchmen on the other hand, as Zack explained it, was something he did as he thought the usual superhero comic book things were for nerds and that watchmen was cool, and edgy, and dark and all he cared about was the violence, sex, and crude language. This is a stance that Alex Moore, the author of Watchmen and the Killing Joke, credits as why he doesn't want to make comics cause people end up missing the point. Again, Zack just did a shot for shot remake of Moore's comic but stripped it of subtext. This is a man who never should have been allowed to write for a story, much less be the lead creative for super hero movies. He is anathema to the very concept.
Exactly. And for anyone saying he is good at visuals, no, he's not. It's Larry Fong (his cinematographer) that made his movies look beautiful. Since Zack don't use him again and instead making his own cinematography in Army of the Dead and Rebel Moon, his visuals have become so fkin bad and ugly, so fkin terrible. If you love visuals of 300, Watchmen, MoS, BvS, ZSJL, then praise Larry Fong, not Zack.
he is the complete opposite of masters like sam mendes, denis villeneuve, edgar wright, and the wachowski sisters: his movies are pretty pictures that convey sound and fury, signifying nothing.
What you wrote is complete bs.
