I hate when people say that Beyonce is "overrated" or just a great "performer" and an "ok singer", but the truth is that she is probably the best and most technically proficient and pitch perfect vocalist to ever brace pop music and that's not an opinion but fact because I have yet to see any other singer (besides Mariah Carey in her prime)to sing with as much clarity, musicianship, resonance, control, accuracy, agility, flexibility, support, clear throat, and technique as much a Beyonce has demonstrated throughout her career.
Beyoncé is kind of the whole package of this generation. You could really see her influences in Janet Jackson. I'd say Janet really influenced artists that put their talents into both singing and acting such as Beyoncé, Britney Spears from 1999-2004, Ciara, Tinashe, Aaliyah, Destiny's Child, basically every r&b girl group in the 90s, fifth harmony, Janelle monae, jhené aiko, Fergie, and to a certain extent Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga. The list goes on for performers who put their time into both singing and complex choreography.
+RyderC Daniels Even Mariah didn't come close the amount of control over her voice. Mariah's vocal runs weren't special. There's a vocal run, and then there's a beyonce vocal run.
+Camilla's Mom wrong. Mariah has immense control over her voice. She was able to shift into different registers in a blink of the eye with amazing fluidity. And, she mixed extremely well with just the right amount of chest and head voice intertwined in her belts. Her runs weren't always blatant as Beyonce's but they are special because they adorn the melody and the rhythm of the song. She's technically perfect. Beyoncé is probably the closest thing to a technically perfect vocalist such as Mariah. Not the other way around.
