I'm a choral singer and as always I am mystified by how you, how all dancers, retain in memory such long runs of steps in class or performance. I will usually always have a score with me even in performance. I may only refer to it occasionally especially when the notes and dynamics become second nature, but still I have it. You amaze me.😄
True, but choral singers usually rarely actually need their score. I’m sure you would do well. Regardless all artists are amazing in their element. Such as Kathryn here :) looking gorgeous as usual.
I'm a singer too, and have the same thought! My teacher told me to think of music as choreography - you can ingrain it into your body and learn to trust yourself to just feel during a performance.
It's because of muscle memory! If you have done the moves often enough it just becomes second nature and your body will move without having to think about it
Funny - I was thinking "Man, that would be cool if she started doing themed centers" and here is the Swan Lake one! Thank you for your hard work in creating these videos on UA-cam for anyone to do. This means a lot :) P.S. - I cannot wait to dance in July !!!🥳
I love you so much for being this vibrant and positive and beautiful as ever and bringing to us these routines for free! You're the best I've ever seen!!! ❤️
I'm actually a beginner (kind of an intermediate), and omg this one was soooo tough! I got a little frustrated, I confess, but then it came to my mind that it all come with practice! However I still had a lot of fun and I'll be getting back to this later as much as possible. Thanks for your great work here Kathryn❤ I appreciate it a lot!
What a beautiful center part.. So beautifully danced Kathryn. It’s definitely way above my level, but I did the first 3 exercises at 0.75 speed and left out the swan arms😢, I enjoyed it a lot and felt that my balance got a little better. 😃. Looking forward to the beginner version. Till then, I’ll repeat the Swan Lake Beginner/Intermediate Barre again. Thank you Kathryn and I hope I can come in July. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
oh the same here! Center is my weakest point, so I try new combinations at 0,75 or even 0.5 speed. But it's so helpful for progressing as an adult dancer!
So wonderful ! Thank you so much ! It was very hard, but also very fun, original, and gives a lot to work on, as usual for you... Waiting to see and practice your next video. And again, a thousand thanks to share your knowledge with such kindness !
Love the way u push the boundaries. Truly innovative n challenging center work inspired by Swan Lake. The combos n choice of music are fabulous. Bravo KM!
Excellent combinations and so fun! Thank you for making themed center work, I really needed this and it’s great coordination work with swan arms. Much love from Bulgaria.
This is so beautiful! I loved the Swan Lake barre, this is perfect. If you ever need ideas for new barre videos, why use the popular ballets? Sleeping beauty, Giselle, Romeo and Juliet, Coppelia, La Sylphide, Cinderella, Le Corsaire, and even some of the Balanchine originals! Serenade, Jewels, Symphony in C, etc. Always love your barres!!
After watching a quite a few of your classes, i really hope to attend your class in person if i ever go to US for travelling or something, your energy indeed is on another level🎉
Omg I have NEVER done 16 fouettés before but I just went for it, found a rhythm, and SPOTTED🤣🤣 This time last year I couldn’t even do 1! They are FAR from perfect, but I’m so proud of my progress! Thank you thank you thank you Kathryn!
Thank you so so much! This is my favourite centre, just on the level right! I have quick request, will you please have make Sleeping Beauty class? Thank you very much!
Can anyone please tell me why my shins kill me during the releves/jump combination? 😫 thanks so much for these classes Kathryn I do them practically daily now!
You should make a Giselle themed barre and center next!! It is my favorite ballet! You could do the iconic Giselle arms and make barre like act 1 and center like act 2!
Please can you make another Center class for beginners or beginners intermediate? I absolutely love the Disney and At Home Workout ones - but would love a new one to do! Maybe a Center part to the Swan Lake or Don Quixote Beginners barre? Thank you! :)
Kathryn I have great idea for a meeting for you. Are you familiar with Nina Novak? She survived nasi camp and made hudge career in USA after that. She is still alive and he life is Great story. Imagine being taken to nazi kamp on the middle of your career. Than being rescued because of someone who remembered how good you were as ballerina and after all of that continue your career in the USA in New York. She is still alive. Currently she is in her 90ties. I think she could be great inspirational story.
That was seriously SO FUN to dance. Thank you so much for all that you give to the art of ballet.

Any chance you can do a marvel themed ballet barre and center?
Thank you soooo much ❤❤🥰🥰🥰I was waiting for that❤❤❤😍😘😍😍😍😍
Did you film the beginner version yet?
looking forward to it :)
How does one get used to quick combinations. I love adagio but petit allegro, my feet silly…?
Can we have the beginner please?🙏
Love everything about this except the fact that my shoulders/back are not that flexible and my swan looks a bit stiff haha thanks, Katie!
That was really hard I did it at home as well with not much space 😅
Anyone else find SOME of the combinations easier with the swan arms? That’s definitely the case for me, especially with the first couple
Oh this was fun! Definitely not there yet though😂
❤️❤️❤️❤️💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
dificult but one, one, one Thankýou
