Thank you for showcasing my favorite suburb in the South of Johannesburg. It's funny how the south is so underated, yet with such gems.

There are so many rich Neighbourhoods in Gauteng, I actually knew only about Sandton and Rosebank. These neighbourhoods that you show are beautiful and looks peaceful too.

Although people who live there have nice houses, they are not as rich as Sandton and Rosebank people. The houses you see there would cost far more if they were in Sandton or Rosebank, that is why Sandton is for the very rich. The north is generally far more expensive than the south.

Hence why we always tell people from cpt that Joburg is much more affordable n has way too many things to offer compared to CPT the amount they use to buy apartments we get a decent 3 Bedroom house in the surburbs
I prefer these kind of areas over your estates where the houses look practically the same with no freedom to build how you want
People chose estates for security reasons
And most high end estates are not homogenous anyway. You build the house you want. That thing of staying in houses that look alike only happens in that 1 Million to 2.5 million rands range.
Safety concerns drive people to estates
Glenvista, Glenanda, Mulbarton and Bassonia excist for many years already

i'm seeing abit of Mulbarton too, but Glenvista is huge i remember at times i would get lost whenever i went jogging and it's very safe. oh how i miss it

The difference between Joburg and Cape Town suburbs is that in Joburg the neighbours are black, White, Chinese, Indian, European Expats, American , Nigerian, while in Cape Town all those hig hend suburbs will be overwhelmingly populated by the white race.
The snakes there on the mountain, I can only imagine them. But other than that, this suburb looks nice, quiet and secure.
One thing for sure Lusaka is heading this way
