  • In a restrictive metropolis in China, there can often be too many rules. Many of these apply to motorcycles - they allegedly cause pollution, obstruct traffic, are dangerous. Yet for the enthusiasts and speed demons, motorcycle modifications and tearing up the streets is a real pursuit of freedom. VICE China delves into the world of motor riders whose love for the chase burns as hot as an internal combustion engine.
    Will China become the world's largest economy? What We Buy is a series exploring the new generation of consumer culture in China, going behind the scenes of booming industries to understand why people are spending their money, and what it is exactly that they are buying.

    Was nice seeing an old Chaing Jaing with sidecar at beginning of video, I wish China had kept making them and modernizing them, they easily could’ve undercut aural and sold a lot here in the USA if they were still in business, they’d need to make an OHV engine instead of their flatheads but China does have the technology nowadays, wish they brought back such an Iconic Motorcycle that was originally based on the flathead 650 BMW. It’s great seeing motorcyclists worldwide loving their bikes and customizing them, motorcyclists are a worldwide Fraternity and I enjoy seeing my fellow bikers loving their machines. I’m glad the guy who had the accident is ok, no matter who or where, bikers will help each other. I wish all the bikers in this video many years of safe and fun riding

      Wow, you’re the 1st kymco owner I’ve ever gotten to speak with, I’ve heard that they’re ridden extensively over in Asia and are both fast and reliable. Some got imported here into the US not so long ago, you wouldn’t happen to be one of those lucky guys?

    These people are geniuses! The bikes they put together are more than just two wheelers! They've embedded their culture and perspective into these machines!

    Villain Motorcycle, beautiful designs. Villain may translate into English better as Outlaw, someone who operates outside of the law. An outlaw can be a villain or a champion for justice. I believe all motorcyclists have the same rebel spirit. Keep on building these incredible machines.

    This is why only bikers will understand our passion for motorcycles. I use to commute into NYC to work. yes, it is more dangerous, but you just have to be more alert and ride defensively. but if you can ride in the city, anyplace else is a walk in the park. Be safe to all my biker brothers.

    i think people shall differentiate between long term rider nomads (interstate) and just commuters, i think the best way to legislate upon bikes is the way india is going to resolve upon this;
    Under 150cc it is not considered a vehicle so it is prohibited or regulated
    that way the 70 percent of riders under 150cc will be cleaned up.
    So the true riders are a minority.

    I have owned several cars. To me they are just tools. They're too expensive as toys today (2024). At the moment I only own a 125 cc KYMCO scooter. It has only 7000 miles on it. Lots of screws have fallen off. That is my fault for not checking them. Yet I never had to check to see if screws were falling off of my cars. The original tires are still on it and have plenty of tread. They don't get a good grip. Maybe that is why they are lasting so long.
    I hope that when the CCP collapses and such criminals are jailed, that motorcycles and scooters become popular again.
