Here's a weird reason that Foreigner hold a special place in my life. We moved from the projects to a white neighborhood when I was a kid. We were the only black family there (mid 70's in the south, USA). So, no one really interacted with us. We would go to the neighborhood swimming pool, but we couldn't swim, so we would just put our feet in the water and sit there bored. After about a month of this, a guy who was there every day looking at us (big scary white guy with a huge moustache) walked up to us (we were scared AF). He asked, "Can You Swim?" we all said no. He said go get your mother. When she came to the pool, he asked her "I see your kids here every day and can't swim, do you mind if I teach them?" My mom said "sure". For the next few months, this guy taught us to swim with Foreigner blasting on his boombox. To this day whenever I hear Foreigner, I think of that big scary hairy mean looking SWEET man that taught us to swim! Thanks Seth!!🤘
@@svtinker At that point in my life I had never heard the name "Seth". I just stuck with me all these years. Oddly I can barely remember most of my schoolteachers names....and some girlfriends, HeHeHe
Proof positive that you can't judge a book by its cover. And give everybody you meet a chance but if they cross you or do you wrong then no second chance.
Miss Bisscute : "Sorry for pausing so early" Me : * looks at The Charismatic Voice, pausing after 15 seconds, every 10 seconds until the end of the song, AND going back at least 3 times every time she pauses* "No, no, Miss Bisscute, it's fine !"
Had the privilege of seeing them live with the original singer (Lou Gramm, the guy in this 78 concert video) at the Waukesha Fair in July 93. They are fantastic live and what a voice. In April 1997, Gramm was diagnosed with a type of brain tumor called a craniopharyngioma. Although the tumor was benign, the resulting surgery damaged his pituitary gland. They have a new singer now and he's pretty great. They always play in Milwaukee my home town at Summerfest, one of the world's largest music festivals.
Great choice for The reaction Miss Bisscute, love the song👍👍👍. It's a Classic band for future reactions i suggest Juke box hero (studio version) and Hot Blooded. Other band you should react is YES with a Classic song: Owner of a lonely heart.
Hello Bisscute, what a great song you've reacted to. Foreigner, an emblematic band that is already years old. I also loved the contrast of the lead singer's voice with those of the rest of the band who did the chorus. I remember with some nostalgia, his hit: Waiting for a girl like you. As a suggestion for some reaction, it would be the song: The cell that explodes, by the band Caifanes. Greetings from Mexico City.
This is a great live version of this song, I'm sure you enjoyed it Biss. I looked through the popular copies of Jukebox Hero live and most of them are not very good copies for a first time listen. It's a great song, but you may want to stick to the studio version of it for a better first time experience.
I LOVE Foreigner, rockers or ballads, makes no difference, they kill it. Saw them with Bad Company and you will never see a better pair of male rock vocalists on the same bill, and the bands and songs are just as good. Boy, were we utterly spoiled for music back then, I feel for the younger generations wanting to live back in the day but even though I'm old now, I am so glad I was able to. Thanks to all the vintage video that survived to get to the digital age so everyone, kids to seniors, can enjoy this wonderful, timeless music, showing how great real musicians are. More Foreigner, do Star Rider and enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎷🎶
Glad to see you experiencing Foreigner. I'm fortunate to know the vocalist Lou Gramm. He is a class human being 100%. Unfortunately he's retiring from performing the end of 2024. We will lose another great rock vocalist who is not replaceable.
Wait, I thought they are one of the nominees this year but not yet inducted? The actual final vote hasn’t happened I don’t believe. I’m hoping they are one for the nominee’s picked for induction.🤞
I agree with others here that maybe you should do "Juke Box Hero" from them next. That, or "Hot Blooded". They're not on your radar yet, but "Juke Box Hero", also makes me think of the song "Shooting Star" from the band called Bad Company. Bad Company are a great band from roughly the same era as Foreigner. Lots of good songs you could check out from them. There's the song "Bad Company" off the album Bad Company, ha, and "Feel Like Making Love", "Rock N Roll Fantasy", and "Ready For Love" are a few other good ones. They had a song in the 90s, after the line up of the band had changed, called "If You Needed Somebody", that I loved the music video of as a very young hopeless romantic.
the Lead singer is Lou Gramm he has a single called Midnight Blue you will like the original video of that .....oh n i like how your name has cute built right in hahahahah! i dropped my snack
This was my favorite version of the band, when they had 6 guys, and Ian MacDonald from King Crimson on keys. The other guy in front on the keys is the lead guitar player, Mick Jones, who is playing the basic chord pattern.
This is Foreigner at its best with Lou Gramm epic song big hit in South Africa for me their best song id Juke Box Hero love your reaction Bisscute they are legends

After Urgent, this is my next favorite Foreigner song. So good and easy to sing along to. I also recommend Say You Will, Juke Box Hero, and I'll Fight for You. Great reaction Biss!! ❤🎹🎸🔥
The bands from the pre 2000 eras were mostly listened to on radio, record, then cd's, not much in visuals, so when they went live they wern't doing visual flash and bangs, they performed and we got what we heard AND then what we saw was just icing on the cake. Now too many new groups are visual and think that is as important as the sound.........they're wrong. This group didn't need visuals, and I think you can also see and appreciate the difference.

This band almost never go a chance to start, in 1974, because the couldn't think of a suitable name. Till the record company finally OK'ed "Foreigner" !! Love you and your reactions !!
They were one great band- I aaw 'em live 6 the next year, and they turned out to be one of my top 3 concerts out of the 100 I've seen. The were studio=perfect that night. I'll also tell you I owned one of the Moog synthisizers, but sold it in '87 because It was too doggone heavy and swtiched to a lighter model I could transport to reharsals and shows easier. Still miss the sound-Like ya said they very unique tone and my current 2 Yamahas can't get it. "Starrider" studio version, should be your next Foreigner tune..It's great spacey rock!

That "distortion" on the keyboard, sounds like the Hammond B3 organ, and to me, that is one of the best instruments to be used in music! It always sounds amazing! It just enriches everything! Remember Deep Purple's Highway Star? There was the organ solo before the guitar solo? Yeah, baby - that's what I'm talking about. There's so much more out there to discover! HB3 baby!
Hello Biscute how are you doing today?❤ I wanted to make a suggestion for a group if I may? The group is called Plumb and the song is entitled Need you now. Like Evenecence they are a Christian band. I hope you can react to it give it a chance I guarantee that you'll Love it. It's Blessed me through out many years. Thank you Pretty girl have a wonderful day!!!!
I just found out about your channel, I love your attitude, I would like you to react to more Mexican music like Pedro Infante, Joan Sebastián or other artists. I recommend "Amor sin maquillaje" by Joan Sebastián
Miss Bisscute, please give your reaction to Vanny Vabiola's new official music video "You're Still The One In My Life". Her best music video is "The Power Of Love".

Loved this reaction, love foreigner, they still have plenty of good songs I don't think You've heard yet.
This is the Steven Wilson text of your interested....

Definite summertime driving around at night with the windows rolled down music.
Foreneigner 4 great album
ok...first time for me seeing this live..is Lou Gramm really chewing gum while singing?!!!!!
HB3 baby!

Her best music video is "The Power Of Love".
For me, Foreigner's That Was Yesterday is the only Foreigner song for me. Full of meaning and haunting, I will always love that song.
