"You were in the hearts of the posse you were raised in
Spoke of in the same breath as powerful and brave men"
That like kills me every time
Hands down one of the best live performances I've ever seen. I always thought there's no way they're giving it their all without eyes closed and headphones on. He slayed that track.
“Here’s where the room run a fever. 5 in a den waiting on a flight number through a speaker, and I never knew a number as a cleaver till an anchorwoman utter ‘Swiss Air 111 to Geneva’.
Holy fuckin shit! What just happened? That doesn’t happen! We were sitting here normal, now we got a motherless child with a father, and a widower to phone call!” Chills every time
Aesop is the greatest to ever do it, like are you joking? The man is a wizard. How did that just happen in my ears? & “live”? My god…
i dont know what exactly about this clash of styles works so well specifically but I thoroughly enjoyed this album and often go back and revisit it
Goosebumps
Woah! I actually used to listen to some Aesop in my younger days but didn't clue in that this was him. I thought he sounded familiar.. And yeah they do mesh surprisingly well
That's so interesting! Those of us who are Aesop Rock fans say "It's interesting to see him do a singer-songwriter project." :) They work well together...
Never can decide on this album, all I know that I could listen to Aesop rap ace
Kimya Dawson! I'm so happy to see her. Cool stuff, crazy seeing her doing a hip hop project
Eyes closed
Just like they say in Teleprompters
dope
Effortless for Aes Rock, as always.
Well, he makes it look that way. Being inside his mind must be a wild experience.
does any one ever know what aesop rock is talking about? i've been listing to him since labour days album, but i dont know what the f he goes on about
That’s part of the fun when listening to Aesop in my opinion: analyzing the metaphors and references in order to uncover the storyline underneath. If you’re wondering about this one it’s a story about a kid learning about a fatal plane crash on TV and slowly realizes that his mom was on board.
@@Waluigifan95 Specifically, Tony's (Blockhead) homeboy Jeremy's mom. It's a true story, of how their homie learned of his mother's death while they were all chilling and channel surfing. Which makes it all the more chilling.
This is definitely one of the best places to start, in terms of digestible lyrics this is probably in the top 10
Blood sandwich might be the easiest too, work your way out from there
@@JosephJamesNYC i would say shrunk aswell
All his stuff is such that you have to digest over many listens to tease apart. First listen to new stuff I just let it go over me and see what images it throws up, even if whole sections are blanks to start. Once you have images that helps other sections open up. Do they mean to same thing to everyone? Probably not :) Does that matter? Not really :)
One of the few artists that has been on my music rotation for decades. Not many artists do that
Dont think they mix well togheter, but i like him a lot.
