  • Cannabis, recreational vs medical marijuana!
If patients can’t get information from their doctor, where will they go to get it? Dr. Google. They read every kind of nonsense there and make up their own mind. The word “doctor” in Latin means “teacher.” If we don’t teach our patients, we can’t help them. Knowledge about Cannabis and the endocannabinoid system has never been more crucial for clinicians - even for those who have absolutely no interest in recommending it, they still need to be aware of these educational aspects.
Benzodiazepines, opioids, and amphetamines are used every day in medical practice. They all have risks. To minimize that risk, you need to educate people. Doctors should be able to advise patients on drug interactions, their impact on other medical conditions, and on daily functioning. We think it has to be across the board.
Join us in a discussion series with Dr. Samoon Ahmed, on the topic of Medical Marijuana, he summarizes what is currently known about the positive and negative health impacts of cannabis, treatment approaches used by practicing clinicians, and insights into the history of cannabis and the current regulatory environment in the United States and other countries.
