I feel that by this way consumption of oil is more, preparing of karela without frying & using of thread , though is time consuming, but will have value / basic taste of karela, where as by deep frying the value of karela are lost in the oil,in which you are frying.......
Using air fryer might achieve a similar effect as frying without adding oil to it..I haven’t tried it yet but will do next time
