@@jasonshackelford2292 , not sure yet, they are working on a lot of new models, including the LP, the Retrotron Tele, a Jazzmaster (I'm supposed to get prototypes of both of those last two). Best thing is subscribe to my youtube channel and Firefly Guitar Fans on FB. The FB group will always have the exact dates and times. My channel will have the demos. I may not be getting the new DCD.....however (and this is the first time this has been announced) I DO have the new pickups they are going to be using loaded in my DCD prototype. I noticed the old pickups were just a little muddy with distortion, I told them, and they sent me new pickups to test, which are really very similar except they don't have the muddy. Still warm and lots of character, just nicer overall.
I enjoyed the comparison. The PRS cut thru the mix more so for me than the Firefly. Also, the Firefly sounded a little out of tune around the 4.59 mark but maybe that was the bum note that was played. Overall, the Firefly was pretty decent and for the price worth the value but I would pick the PRS in this comparison.
Seriously? Bad fret work, bridge and intonation issues, microphonic pickups, mini unbranded potentiometers shall I continue, vs a PRS? You guys are high.
Actually. Real bone nut, large pots, orange drop capacitors, and good wiring. Needed some tlc for some of the other items you mentioned. Check out our local guitar guy’s review. Surprising for the price. We are both prs fans and it wins overall. Of course, that’s not really the point. More of look to see if there is any value to cost here and there actually seems to be a bit. Great video. I, tok, am a member of Firefly Guitar Fans. I have, if not the oldest, certainly one of the oldest Firefly guitars in the group. This is a first run FF338. I also own a first run FFLPJ. I have made no modifications on the FF338. The LPJ is going through several mods due to being received with one bad tuner, and THAT bridge. To view an unbiased video of the double cut makes me want one. Thank you for the great video. I enjoyed it.

They both sound good but different. The Firefly sounds like an old Junior. I've got the new version with Nashville style bridge and tailpiece, Intonation is way better. But I'd rather have a used PRS SE but the FF is fun to play and the gold paint is cool on mine.
No doubt the prs plays better but I think I liked the sound of the pickups more in the firefly. Might be that they are just closer to the humbuckers I am use to. I have wondered if new US pots in the PRS would open it up a bit. I like the gold too.

To compare guitars...clean is more...you can always dirty up a guitar...maybe both of you through the same amp clean....then you can see what original tone is!
I think so. I actually like the sound of the pickups a bit better. They are a bit meatier. That said, the PRS plays better, but I am a PRS fan. - Beard

Joe Guitar the PRS definitely cuts. Maybe a bit thinner sounding. Not that that is a bad thing.

We are going to do the same thing with the Harley Benton we just got in and the Firefly. We will definitely keep this in mind! Great suggestion.
You should compare the Firefly to a Gibson! Really! Come on do it!🤪
Could happen. PJ has an old single P90 SG style Gibson from the 60's I think.

The firefly meets a need for many people. The Harley Benton junior we got later was quite a step up for not much more money.
