Great story. I worked for many years as a criminal investigator and supervising other investigators and these tales still make me smile while shaking my head. You never know where that tip may come from that helps you crack the case, but the dinner table is a new one for me. 😆

I remember hearing about this year's ago on Salomondrins channel,the owner was going on about how much the car is worth as at the time it was the highest mileage LFA
"Fell off the truck". I actually have seen that happen. A car hauler had a lock fail on one of them double level open ones. The big dodge ram platform was nicely squishing the brand new released at the time Cooper Clubman. The floor of the car was pressed to floor of trailer, every window exploded and roof buckled.
A transport company dropped my dad's Excursion off a transporter: the big Ford wound up in the interstate median, fortunately hitting no one in the process. The driver found out when he reached a weigh station a few miles down the highway and the rig was about 8k lbs light. The Excursion survived with only a busted rear cargo area window...
I would love to own an LFA. The looks and especially the sound of the car are magnificent!!! Classy and sophisticated lines with the similar sound of a Formula 1 car. Wish it would have sold better than it did. It basically means that the car is rare and prices are going to be astronomical in the second hand market. Thank you to Toyota for putting out this car! It is a beautiful beast of machinery!
My mom once had a Cadillac Fleetwood. It broke down in South Carolina, and she had it towed. After she had the repairs done, it didn't drive quite right, and the emblems and trim started falling off the car. She then got a call from the South Carolina highway patrol. It turns out that the Cadillac had fallen off the rollback wrecker, and a witness had called the police. Mom contacted the owner of the wrecker company, and he denied the whole thing. By the time mom was done, his insurance company had paid her retail for her car, and the tow company's insurance had been canceled.

I am a patrol officer outside of Saint Louis. I once received a call for a car In the middle of a field. When I arrived, it was a car alright. A Richard Petty Experience stock car. It had slid off a transport truck on I-255 and down a levee into a field after an event at Gateway International Raceway. Undamaged. Unbelievable.

Nothing has gone my way I got passed over for a promotion they gave it to some new kid whose uncle works for the hr department I'm more qualified and have more experience and they passed me over for him. And today on the way home my engine blew up I was final able to buy my dream car after saving up for it and it just blew up what a fckn month I've been having this shit has me feeling like giving up on life... And at the beginning of the year I was diagnosed with BPD so that's also got me feeling down god-damned the luck I'm having haha. I hope everyone is having a better day, week, month and year haha these videos always bring some levity to my disappointing life
Hey, I remember that guy. He had the LFA on the goldRush in 2015. They passed near me, so I swung over to meet up with all them as they stopped at a local Cars and Coffee. I remember the LFA owner seemed a little unique. Here he was walking around shirtless, with a fannypack, but driving a LFA. I mean you see a lot of weird stuff on a rally, but he sort of stood out.
He’s in a lot of video from that rally too. I believe he’s in a lot of the ‘official’ rally video too. I remember a part where everyone else trailered their cars most of the way across AZ and Texas but he drove, shirtless and all. Dude was def on a lot of Addy & MDMA it seemed, I’ll have to go back and watch them again

So who has the wrecked LFA now? I agree the chassis took a huge hit despite it looking pretty swell but that engine and transmission is likely still in tacked. Honestly that's my dream motor/transmission/exhaust setup and would make a badass crate motor for an s2k or even as a replacement motor for the lc500, just sad to see something of this magnitude go to waste!

So in german there is an idiom, if something fell of a truck it means you obtain something under questionable circumstances… which in this case seems to actually fit the issue… But something I will never get behind is having down payments on a super/hyper/duper-car… I means yes, I do understand the business model behind that but from the people I know that actually own a supercar they all agree on the idea if you want to own a 400k car you better have 800k in the bank… but that might just be the thinking of someone who was raised quiet careful with money.
Somebody educate me please. He used the phrase, “Put it out for repo”. I assumed repossessions were given to 1 company and said company started looking for the car. Does the “put it out” mean it’s a semi-public wanted list, or hot list, that any repo shop can see and collect on? Just curious.
As iconic as the V10 in the LFA is I feel like the LC500 is a better looking car and will age better than the LFA has. I just wish they would make a LC F with a TT version of the 2UR making around 650-750hp with a 7 or 8 speed DCT, or take the existing 5.0 V8 2UR or develop a 400-450hp 4.0 V8 and an electric motor just on the engine on the engine adding 100hp and maybe a pair on the front axle making 75hp each. Use capacitors to store the energy similar to the Lamborghini Sian instead of batteries to keep the weight down. A 4.0 V8 three motor setup would be 650-700hp and that should be an easy goal to reach. A RWD TT 5.0 2UR with an electric motor just on the engine should be able to make 650-850hp easily while retaining a ton of character. The AWD NA 4.0 V8 3 electric motor would Hybrid would have the pure of sound from a Rev happy NA flat plane crank V8. The RWD TT 5.0 2UR with a single electric motor on the ICE would be alot of fun too. A really attractive GT focused chassis with an incredible sounding motor making loads of power from the ICE alone bolstered by electricity helping fill in the low RPM torque production of the 4.0 NA motor or helping fill in and eliminate turbo lag from a boosted 5.0 2UR meaning larger turbos could be run for a stronger top end surge since the turbo wouldn't need to be kept small for ideal response across a broader RPM sweep. Then they could release just the ICE TT 5.0 2UR V8 in some more of their other vehicles, like the GS F, RC F, IS F, and a LS F with a slightly different tune and/or turbo sizing for the chassis the motor is being swapped into. Toyota/Lexus has always built such great engines V8 and V10s included and I wish they would develop some boosted V8 engines to go in their F cars with some Hybrid technology instead of abandoning them for TT V6s like they did in the new LS.
The incredibly high revving engine was the absolute highlight obviously. Styling is highly subjective but either way it’s very distinctive, so I’ll give it that. For those of you that think it the greatest thing ever (and have experience with other truly great road cars) prepare to be highly underwhelmed with the rest of the car beyond the magnificent V10 engine. For some though, that may be enough but I personally prefer more of a complete package…..especially at current LFA prices

A "factory rep" would have no reason to be involved in a situation that is being described. 2) If you are the lessor (i.e. lender) and your trying to secure your asset or get funds for the value of your asset, why would you tell the dealer employee so that they could attach a lien to the asset you are trying to secure?
