I'm glad you had time to get this video out! Thank you. I really enjoy your videos, you always explain in so much depth about why your doing something and how your going to get it done. This was great just to get to know a little bit more about you. Look forward to your next videos. GOD bless!

Thanks again for the tag. Really was neat to think through these questions. Enjoyed yours as well. Fascinating about motocross in your background and then stepping away from it completely. Not unlike what I did with art. Well, maybe dirt bikes will find a way back into your life at some point, too. Blessings to you and yours as well - especially your wife and baby on the way!

Yes, ditto what Becker's Backyard Homestead said.
I know I am old and post menopausal, but that segment about rebuilding the well made me cry....and the kitten at the end made me smile. Thank you and God bless you and yours!

One of my favorites you guys did was harvesting honey. So well put together packed with tons of great info. Great to hear your input on this.

Quite interesting. Would love to see some of your artwork. Once every year or two I break out the paints and attempt a few mediocre paintings. Maybe you should grow out an Afro and start teaching us to paint some happy little trees!

Ha! Thanks for an awesome comment. That actually made me laugh on a day when I could use a good laugh - Bob Ross - how great was he?!?! But as an artist, in the days before VCR, I always had to wonder about some sweet old lady trying to keep up with him, and do what he was doing, on a 30 minute show. He wasn't a master artist in the Michelangelo sort of way, but what he could do was nothing short of amazing given the time frame. No doubt a lot of people struggled to copy him.

I am a recent subscriber and have been enjoying going through your backlog of videos. I have learned a lot and have been inspired to finally get off my butt and do a few things that I have been pondering for years. In particular, I was very appreciative of your pond aeration videos and intend to finally improve the water quality of our own pond. Thanks for all that you do and while sometimes these peripheral topics (the 5 questions) can seem silly, I did very much enjoy learning more about you and your background and what moves and motivates you. Thanks, Jim

Jim, thank you for subscribing and following along with our adventures. Pond aeration is really an important but simple improvement. We wanted fish for dinner last night and with four of us fishing, we caught nine largemouth bass and crappie (our 12 year old son caught a 4lb. bass) and ended up with leftovers. this just wasn't possible before aeration. There was a lot of algae and there was little to no dissolved oxygen in the water = which means fix don't want to move. Thanks for the feedback about the five questions video, too! Take care and God bless!

p.s. I tried going to your website after seeing your poster about the eggs but couldn't make connection. Do you have a market or supply to a local store yet?

Unfortunately, we don't...yet. At this stage in our farm we're mindfully keeping this small and manageable while we work on big infrastructure projects and continuing restoring things. We don't want to make the mistake of getting too big, too fast, and then feeling overwhelmed. If that makes sense. Also, in NC the law allows for selling 30 dozen or less with having to grade the eggs and label them differently. So we stay under that number selling to family and friends, coworkers, and parishioners at our church. And some folks drive out to the farm, which is great, because then people get to see the happy chickens that lay their eggs!

Not to be negative seems maybe a bit dangerous to have an axe over the door.

Haha, yes - thanks for the concern. Not to worry. It is actually screwed to the wall, not simply resting on something. It was my deceased father's axe and holds a fair amount of sentimental value.

Oh ok well that's good to know about it being screwed in.

I was gonna mention that, too
Figured that you would have it securely mounted.
