Groundhog Day? Geothermal Greenhouse Update and Other Projects

#111 Almost as soon as we began digging out under our DIY greenhouse in order to install the passive solar geothermal earth battery system, it started raining and seems not to have stopped since. And the ten day forecast is calling for even more rain every other day. It's starting to feel like the movie Groundhog Day, every day repeats itself with the weather. We now have a pond forming in the giant hole we created and a mud bog everywhere else in the garden area. It will take us at least a solid week without rain, full sun, and lots of wind to dry out in order to finish this phase of the EMT conduit greenhouse project. In the meantime, we pruned the fruit trees in our orchard, built a magazine rack in the shop "office," and added quick nesting boxes to the mobile duck house. Oh, if you're thinking about building a chicken tractor, we highly recommend you go with the John Suscovich "Stress Free" chicken tractor model, as opposed to the design put forth by Joel Salatin many years ago. Finally, we received our large order of seeds from Johhny's Seeds! Very exciting to look forward to starting seedlings and gardening in the spring and summer. +AMDG
