I bought a used kiln in great condition once, but I didn't hook it up for years, I ended up going to hook it up for someone else, and found a nickel in the wires box. That's what made it go unused which kept it so nice. I have vowed to never plug in a kiln without checking inside for damage again. It's just not safe. I'll still buy em without checking, cuz I'm tearing off the box and converting to propane anyway!
Just beware that many thing can get into those slots and pose a fire hazard.
Always open the wire box and inspect it!
Thanks Again! I love these Shorts!

Sorce, that could have been a disaster! That is a good suggestion to check the wire box before you plug it in! Thanks for the tip.

Use a step up/ step down transformer since it is still single phase rather than three phase (which can lead to shock a hazard) it can be done for around a hundred dollars.
