  • Have two ponds to clean out on the same property. Although the first one had 5ft of mud and a partial limestone bottom. It went pretty well! Not so much on the second one!!

Just depends. There were two ponds on this property that I had to clean out so I decided to bring the big dozer. I bid the job for both ponds.

How hard is it to learn to clean ponds with dozers

I guess you have made this obvious that it would take a lot longer to dig out with backhoe. A dozer any smaller for this job would be useless. I am about to redig my pond that is filling in from erosion. 1/2 acre. You think Dozer is what I need. Need to go down another 6 ft to 10 ft on depth of 1/2 of it.

It kinda depends, but it’s hard to beat a bigger dozer for moving a lot of dirt. If the ground is soft enough for a dozer, I think it would be your best option. If the grounds hard, you’ll need rippers on the dozer or a bigger excavator.

@@Dirtdaddy953 Thx. Very sandy so I will be looking for d6. Should be big enough, maybe.
