Great idea! I painted my covers and the paint peeled off in places, so I'm going to redo them with wall paper that matches my room, thanks for the idea! I love to watch such a lovely, smiling face explaining how to do all these creative things, really puts me in the mood to craft!
Hi Laura Duncan Thank you for the sweet comment! You will love making these covers. They are so easy and really update a room! Have a fantastic day! xo, Michele
I am trying to get my toddler excited for her new bedroom and can't find custom plates for her. I am totally confident that I could pull this off but I have one question, is this normal printer paper you used for the print or is it a special type of paper? Thanks, I'm super excited to make my kids day!
Thanks so much for this instant room changer! I'll say it for you... the off-white ones that plague our lives are UGLY, and the old dirty ones especially are an abomination. I'm always looking for ways to be beautifully creative instead of buying things. I had already decided to cover them myself, and this is the simple tutorial I needed! Subbed.
This is so awesome! I was just about to purchase some custom covers and then thought to check how people were making them. Thanks for the inside tips! ^_^
Hey Michele, LOVE the idea, question though. I live in an apartment and if we were to leave when our lease ends, everything kind of has to be back the way it was, nice and clean. Is the paper and mod podge easy to take off?
Hi Seren Ford ...The ModPodge is permanent. You would need to go to Home Depot and buy New switch plates. Then you can take them with you. They are super cheap and around $1.50 each. Have fun making them! xo, Michele
You're great! Thank you so much for your creative ideas! Can you link me to the webpages you found your printouts from? I'd love to print out the same ones
Hi Ayah Hantash I'm so glad you liked my DIY! I put a link to the scrapbook paper download in my description box below my video. Be sure to let me know how they turned out. Have a fabulous day! xo, Michele
Not sure if this is covered, but as an added fill-in, why not take your rocker switch cutout and glue that to the switch? Also, the hole punch outs for the screws… substitute flathead screws and then glue your punch out on top of the screw heads? These suggestions are probably best for actual photos so you lose little of the original photo
Hello Michelle, I loved loved loved this idea and have started doing this with all my light switches. I got better as I went along. I haven't taken photos yet but will today. They are adorable. One question... I am using them for my Airbnb house and the few that I have done look amazing and I'll keep doing them everyday until I'm done. My question is this... I'm worried about cleaning. With an Airbnb, we do and have to do tons of cleaning of every touch area. In addition to the Modge Podge, would you recommend that I coat each one with a top layer of shellac or something stronger like that? I'll have to clean them frequently with liquid, so I'm just worried the Modge Podge won't be strong enough to hold up.
Hi Patricia: So sorry for the late reply!! Thanks so much for loving my DIY!!! What a great idea to use this for your AirBNB. ModPodge is actually a sealer. Just put on a few extra coats. Have an awesome day! xo, Michele
Hi Rachel Scott I'm so glad you like my DIY! If you paint your switch cover you should put a sealer of some kind on top. Have an awesome weekend! xo, Michele

Where do I get the patterns paper or can I use fabric
This is really cool! If I were to paint my light switch covers, would I need to seal it with something after?
