Hi.i just changed both fuel filters on my Volvo fl 280 (2008)The truck now starts very slow… almost burning the starter… I drove more than 1000km and it still starts with 50-60 rpm (1 min) torque on starter… Any idea? Thanks in advance!
Hi @pspetrov, there are few things to check out before touching anything. For sure changing the filters caused the issue, once the fuel pump stop running with the engine off, because of gravity, the fuel goes back to the tank causing air gaps on the fuels lines, if, any of the filters caps/ lids, seals are letting air inside, you need take off all fuel filters, check the seals, o- rings and buy new and better filters make, if you never used this before. Your engine has also 2 non return valves before the pump, these cause same symptoms, extremely rare to fail. If you struggle finding the air leak you can transform it in a fuel leak, put rags around a air blowing gun and blow inside the fuel tank holding the air pressure inside the tank till the fuel comes out from the problem source, better start pressurising the tank with the engine running, then switch off the engine, and keep pressurising the tank. This is all I can say for start, good luck
@@hgvtechuk4929 thanks for your quick response! Today i removed the low pressure fuel pump because some noise was coming out from it. When I blew air in the outlet/ exit , air comes out from the inlet/entrance. Is that how it should be in your opinion? Is it possible to lose pressure from there?

@@hgvtechuk4929 ok i can not find the dipstick to the enginge oil i have alway look on the dispaly in the carbine for how much i fill up enginge oil but i dont trust that så much
Fl 250 gets 21 litres 10w40 low saps, I don't remember the 280 model, sorry. I been over 7 years without working on it, I been asking some colleagues and they don't know either, I will keep asking and I will let you know if I get the answer
