A truly fantastic restoration Steve. The colour choice is perfect and the metal work on the engine is awe inspiring and I hope driving it gives you and yours many years of pleasure 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻
A few years ago I was the owner of an exactly ford escort, color and all that restored with a difference Left hand wheel. I have followed your work of restoration! Sincerely my congratulations
Just amazing, what a talent with utter dedication to detail. I’m in complete awe of your abilities. The video was perfect with excellent music to accompany it. Thank you.
Fabulous car Steve ,colour and wheel combination is perfect, you are a true craftsman.....also the music was awesome.thanks for sharing, cheers from Australia
Steve you really have done an incredible masterpiece there. The areas you don’t usually see look as good as the areas you do see! The car is stunning and the detail is wonderful (including the petrol cap, rocker cover) but I guess this and more has already been said. Enjoy your beautiful piece of art as others will! I used to do a little car restorations myself but I can honestly say mine might look nice but it is not until you get-right into the restoration do you see the quality of work and parts used!!!
Wow. Not only a car restoration but a work of art. In England in the 70's these were popular but austere in appearance this has it's austerity but it looks like it will rip your head off. Extreme effort = Fast moving artwork. Well done.
What an amazing car.i found this video inspiring when I was building my mk1 escort, especially the attention to detail.the only thing better than Maltese escorts is the Maltese people,I cant wait to go back one day.
Very nice....my brother and I both built 1974 Escort 1300Xl's back in 79/80. Mine was an estate and I fitted all Mexico running gear. Bruv went to 2.0 Pinto. We were still teenagers back then. I kept mine until 1996 ....with hindsight I should have kept it.
this is a very beautiful and bad ass hell of a sick car just as the German made ford cortinas, this is a British made ford that was built for the Caribbean, Australian,European,Asian and African markets this car rite here is priceless really appreciate every piece of this video very much
passed my test at the age of 18 (1989), the car i wanted was a escort mk1/2 ended up with mk1 950cc fiesta, driven fords ever since now driving mk7 fiesta zetec s but still would love to own mk 1/2 escort. gorgeous car
the car looks amazing and that colour is totally outstanding. I did fast forward through a lot of this clip, i think some video fottage would have been a great addition, rather than photos and effects.
In addition to the restoration work! ... The Video is fabulous, Music well chosen "Vangelis" I believe .. My Congratulations for the work of Audio and Video
Maravilloso!
My favourite car of all time. Forget your Ferraris or other exotica. Lottery win purchase number 1 is a mint 1600GT (Mexico), followed by 1300E and possibly a RS1600.
A persons very first full restoration can be very hard work, time consuming, and labor intensive but very rewarding once completed... but their are lots of projects that become to much work they get abandoned, stay motivated & focused on the end of the project for completion, but remember its not just the work its the cost of parts and finding those parts can be a hard job if your looking for perfect new-ish ones.
YOUR SO LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO ENJOY A MK:1 RESTORATION PRO~JECT... premises, shell, etc... a very jealous fan of your labour of love... ALSO IN AWE..!!! JUST - BOSS - PAL
Great video, a pleasure to see that much effort put in to a lovely car, well done on restoring her to that standard, she looked beautiful, loved the body colour, I spotted a Mk3 Cortina in the final show pics, what country are you in ?, as the shell you started with looked to be rust free. (don't you ever get rain!!) liked the music choice to very enjoyable to watch.
I am in the US, how can i join the club to get a classic excort with a cosworth engine with twin webbers and a straight cut gearbox over here in the US?.
22:08. Which part of Malta or Gozo is that? I went to Malta last year and the first classic car I saw on the road from the airport to Bugibba was a Jaguar C Type! Fantastic restoration by the way!
I wish my mk1's had as little rust as that one!!! 😁 That's the advantage of the Maltese climate, very dry and dusty (I cycled across Malta and Gozo many years ago) Because they're so light a standard mk1 with a 1600 engine will beat any modern 2.0i away from the lights... and top out about 200km/h, if you have a big enough radiator to stop it overheating!!! Many a time driving up the M1/M6 in summer with the heater full blast and the windows open to rid the excess engine heat!!
If only Ferraris were built with such dedication and craftmanship... the part I loved the best was the absolutely shambolic garage it came out from.
A truly fantastic restoration Steve. The colour choice is perfect and the metal work on the engine is awe inspiring and I hope driving it gives you and yours many years of pleasure 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻

Love all the work you put into this escort. Great colour reminds me of a colour they used to call midnight blue in the eighties.
Very nice presentation ... I love your sound track ... Its ear candy ... Love the old Ford Escorts !!!
Fantastic 50 year old Escort made to look brand new and if not better than the original build. Well done!
Thank you
It would have never come out of Ford like this. People make them how they should be s*** Shields and all.

How come it started as a round headlight car and ended as a 1300 GT /1300e type oblong type ?
please tell me after all that work you weldid the front screen pilars and roof spot welding
I had a Mk I - 4 door back in the day, it was tons of fun.
Why did you change to the oblong Headlamps? The round look better.
YOUR SO LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO ENJOY A MK:1 RESTORATION PRO~JECT... premises, shell, etc... a very jealous fan of your labour of love... ALSO IN AWE..!!! JUST - BOSS - PAL

They certainly did not roll off the production line like this , just sublime work would be an understatement!!!
wonderful compliments nice job
can anyone explain how he repair the engine?
Escort mk1&2 are my favourite classic Ford's. Along with my favourite song from Enya at 12:10.
Is it just me or an optical illuson that all old rear-wheel drive Fords seem to tow inwards on the real axle? If it is for a reason, what is it?
Amazing and beautiful
Espectacular lo hicieron con mucho placer 🙋♂️💫💫💫🇺🇾🇺🇾🤗🙏

Is sand blasting an option?
