Can they withstand homeless?
Yes, they're pretty cool for gross liberal cities where businesses all have to deny bathroom use to have so humans can have somewhere to go. I've used the older ones and the entire inside is sprayed down by like high pressure jet hoses with detergents, so no one can stay in there for more than I think 10 min is the limit.
That's a spot for dirty joe and the boys to have a soup kitchen.

My husband is a contractor and he left a porta potty unlock to allow the homeless to have a place to use the bathroom if they needed. On day one, the homeless clogged the potty with clothes and other stuff on purpose and vandalized the potty inside and out.
I going to say: nice effort but will be wasted.
Your husband learned the lesson everyone does thinking street people are all down on their luck normal folks, not the vast majority being deranged mentally ill druggies who will burn your house down lighting their meth pipe after they broke your windows for the quarter on your dash. But these toilets are homeless proof, you put money in, you have 10 minutes, then it locks and goes into a cleaning cycle.
I agree with both of the reply comments. I must apologies for my labeling if homeless people who vandalize and destroy things. I really meant is that no matter the good intentions, someone mental or not might have the tendency to ruin things for everyone.
Even if it locked down and self cleaning, it does not prevent people from breaking in and destroy it.
I want to optimistic but the way the society is now a days it hard to say.

the first move the city has made for affordable housing in 25 years.
Just add a shower head and a drain in the floor and you can have a private shower foo homeless or anybody who needs a shower. Wouldn't take much to retrofit that in. Kill two birds with one stone. Good for out of towners and tourists who are just visit for a few hours or half of the day and don't have a hotel to shower in.
Just as long as the cleaning system can also kill stuff like HPV and legionnaires so it doesnt spread through people's feet

There is no buying of toilets. The video said they are provided at no charge in exchange for free advertisement space on kiosks. Seems like a fair deal.
