That is with NEVER EVER using any kind of protector or add-on case! I've had my G8 for about 2 months now -- the back is already cracked and in need of replacing. I'll have to get a shell for it, which, for my inherent lack of "abuse" is ridiculous.
Lol better off just getting a new one the glass/screen is going to be the most expensive part sucks to suck this is why its important to have atleast some sort of case even just a cheap plastic one suffices
You would have to take it apart and make sure any moisture or liquid internally is dried out and use a small brush to brush off any corrosion on the chips or connectors/sensors and then put the phone back together and see if it will work
Depends on exactly what your issue is you're having. If its a reception issue or wifi issue, first thing I would check would be the top and bottom black plastic covers that have the white/tan color antenna lines drawn on them. If those plastic covers/plates are not seated properly making a good connection with the main board, then you can run into poor signal issues. Next I would check to make sure your main board is seated properly and in place. Also check and make sure all your cables are connected and have not come loose. Aside from that you might have a hardware or software issue.

Be really really nice if someone fabbed a replacement metal backplate for this puppy. The glass is retarded, don't care how "cool" it looks. I'd rather give up the Qi charging than have a glass back. It would make far more sense to put a through-the-back connector allowing someone to attach a Qi-charging plate to it, if they really wanted it. After all, if you put the ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL case onto the damned thing to protect that RIDICULOUSLY FRAGILE back, you could incorporate a Qi coil into it which would mate up with such a connector. >:-/

where did you get the pry tool
there are links in video description for pry tools you can use. Hope it helps
hey y'all do somebody know where the heck to find the gyroscope chip on this device ? mine's busted.thx
The volume buttons and google voice buttons suddenly stopped working. What to do bro? 😪
Have you tried powering it off and on? Also the main board sits on the flex cable for the buttons which makes a connections when the pins make contact. If dropped its possible the board is not seated properly to make a connection.
@@PBKreviews Yeah I have powered off and on still doesn't work. Will factory resetting do the magic? cos I can't risk taking my phone to repairers here cos LG products ain't rampant as such they may find it difficult to fix but instead damage it further. 😪
@@PBKreviews my power button works perfectly tho
Amazing. Can i be your student?
Wish you success in the future 😁
New sub for you sir!👍
Thank you :)
where are the quad dac chips??
If the touch is not working, what could be the reason ?
If its a new screen replacement, can be software related. Try updating the phone software with the prior working screen if possible, since sometimes older software doesn't read the newer screen replacements. If its the original one and stopped working, can be water damage, loose connection or something else.
@@PBKreviews Thanks for answering. It is not a new screen replacement. I was using my phone and suddenly the touch stopped working. Then after few hours, I check it again and it did work but just for few seconds.
does this actually work
Idk it looks like the S10 is a better built phone and a much larger heat sink for sustained performance. Gah I wanna see inside the v50 before I go for a S10
Will try to get my hands on one asap n take it apart
It actually isn’t. They did a tear down of an s10 already and it seems they’re going apple style with putting the charging port attached to a bigger piece of the phone as well. Causing repairs to cost more now
@@palmviewlobos15 that's not my point, the point is the S10 has a much better heat sink than the g8. The v50 is advertising vapor cooling as well, so I wonder if it has just as good of a heat sink than the S10.
@@palmviewlobos15 whether it has a modular board or not does not subtract to whether something is well built or not. Assuming the charging port does go, you still have fast wireless charging
Is it posdible to take the g8 display and use on g7
I don't think the connector will be the exact same nor do i think it will fit in the midframe of the other model phone but wouldn't know for sure unless i had both together to test but odds are unlikely but possible if the connector is the same size and fits etc.
It doesn't show how to take the front screen off for replacment
I did not take off the screen when I did it, ordered a complete screen with frame online m.gadgetfix.com/oled-display-lcd-touch-screen-digitizer-frame-for-lg-g8-thinq-4103.html and followed this video guide. Worth a few extra bucks to not mess with the screen itself
Loop's Good.
Btw any idea what would cause this phone to reboot every time a charger is plugged in mines been doing it lately and I can't figure out what's wrong with it and it's to big a pain in the ass to send it to LG
if its doing it with different chargers, might be a defective charger port that has a short somewhere, try replacing the charger port board with flex cable and see if it does the same thing.
@@PBKreviews that's what I'm thinking of doing :) after watching this video I might just take on the task myself despite having warranty I just dont want to have to wait for them to send it back to me let alone it arive there and stuff
Where are the cell and WiFi antennas?
They are the white lines on the top and bottom black plastic pieces (one of which houses the speaker assembly) after you remove the back glass
Cool
inside of phone like samsung
where is the qi charging
It's the black pad with the circle rings in the center @1:42 in the video

It's a strange G8... Three camera... Mmm...
Different countries gets different versions, LG has returned to the shit they used to do before.
Ya, don't see why they do that. Would be better to just stick to one version instead of making different layouts and costing them more to have different backplates and all for different versions etc.
Wait, mine has 2 back cameras
yes the US version is 2 cameras but the international variant has 3
@@PBKreviews What's with that. US also gets shipped with cool stuff like cars
Wth where is the lcd removal
Lg g8s is different
Supperr
I have an interesting request...would you be confident enough to sell me the phone?
It's been a long time since the video was made and don't have the phone anymore
@@PBKreviews Well I'm trying to find one with 3 rear cameras but I can't
@@graflow4714 the 3 cameras are international variants so you would need to look for an international unlocked model. The US version only came with 2 cameras.
That red color blind my eyes
