My grandkids can't understand rotary dial/party line phone service when I tell them about it. I'm watching UA-cam videos to figure the phone out and learning a lot. This g8 is the only phone on the market that rival's the s10+'s display technology. If you can purchase the g8 for 620.00 bucks it's a very good deal. This is an audiophile's dream phone with the 32bit DAC! Very good review, always informative per usual!
True! Despite the negative reviews by some UA-camrs, I think the phone is the best value for money flagship out there. Switching from an S10 there's very little that you'll miss, and there are unique features that you'll also love on it
I put a Star Wars blu ray rip I made with the DTS 7.1 HD Master Audio preserved on the phone; got my Bose QC15 headphones turned on the quad dac and bumped the bass just slightly. HOLY S---T! AMAZING! On my PC I use an ASUS Strix Soar sound card /w the Dolby Atmos enabled in Windows and it dosent even come close to this friggin cell phone.
People esp most youtubers are always very quick to lash out at LG or Samsung softwares, but honestly they're better than stock. They're usually more feature rich & customizable than stock.
LG is, But Samsung is the most crappiest phone and rip consumers any way they can as far the features goes Idk why Samsung become so big..:) POS Company.They use to make thing which sit right next to Memorex, GPX and Coby brands. Seriously

Cool. I bought the Note 9 but I have significant G8 envy. I had a G3 for years and it was pretty good but wanted to try another brand. Probably should have stayed with LG. I might check out the G9 if/when it comes out.
@@istaygolden3017 the battery like is okay its defitnetly not the strongest after awhile. But neither was the iPhones battery. But i actually still love it i love the camera and the storage size. I love that I can still watch youtune while using other apps, i couldnt do that on my old iphone.
Great video, I learned a lot of new things to do with my phone. On another note, it might be a good idea if the demonstration and speech was a bit slower ( I’m a native English speaker ) and I had to keep pausing and going back to see the steps being taken. Just a thought, thank you for making this video.
Thank you for this amazing and wonderful video. My LG G5 has served me well but the power button seems to not work anymore. Found a few videos to suggest and got it to work a bit with hard pressing but now not working - so have been looking at the LG G8. I migrated to LG after my Blackberry Passport SE which I still love but the G5 did become my daily driver and great greatly enjoy the LG experience due to such customization and many things that actually come included that I found other phones do not do. Especially excited they still have the headphone jack on this phone and all these great features you have shown. The best video on UA-cam I have seen that really goes into detail and very straight forward. Excellence!!! New subscriber. Much continued success in all your endeavors.
Im still using my old and trusty G5 with the B&o hi fi module..worked fine these 4 years of daily heavy use...now having some screen ghosting and old battery i have 3 batteries all almost dead...time to retire it and replace it with a G8.

Though the G8 is my daily driver. If planning a trip or certain photo video moments I take both. The G5 features they took out ..missing on the G8 that I use often are: multicam for video! Why they took that out makes no sense to me. Also "time-lapse" is gone but just today I found out you can install it via download for free at LG Smartworld. Again why not just make it standard with the phone. I checked if they had a download for multicamera recording and no. So for any multicam video I may want to do I will still have to use the G5. Hopefully they may fix this with an update or make a download on the LG Smartworld to add Multicam function native again. I still have 3 batteries and quite satisfying to still be able to change batteries.

Works fine. . the problem with batteries is that they were all made in 2016...even brand new not used ones are old and dont accept much charge. Batteries limit phones life. If not i would keep using my G5 till it dies. The G5 proved to be a great phone it had it all.
@@endrizo I guess you missed my statement that I had just the other day found out online through research there is a "timelapse" for the LG8. It is free from LG - in camera when you navigate to more click on the download button in the top right corner and that will take you to LG Smartworld where it is there for downloading and will appear in the more section or however one sets their phone categories. Yes hear you on the G5 and still loving the G8 especially great audio and the manual photo/video and cine video options! If they bring back the multi-camera option hopefully with just a download such as "timelapse" is available from the LG Smartworld...it would be perfect. Actually no ...there should be a way to turn off that insane AI tagging feature..

There is one feature that wasn't demonstrated in this video. That was SPLIT-SCREEN,every since the last update,I can no longer use the split-screen feature. They replaced it with picture-in-picture which SUCKS!!. It makes the second screen no bigger then a postage stamp,which is pretty much worthless. Is there another way of getting my split-screen feature back?????..
Lg phones are really good idk why people hate on lg ha but the g8 and v50 even the v40 are really good phones i love the g8 alot. And ive had iphone x, xs max, note 9 and one plus 7 n the lg phones are my favorite 💯

I am actually excited about the LG G8x. For the first time in years LG is on my radar again. Any manufacturer that says they don't have room for a 3.5 is lying. They are just pushing the cost of their bluetooth headphones up. Look at the rise in Beats and Airpods since Apple removed the 3.5. Samsung is doing the same. At least Samsung supports all codecs unlike Apple.

I made a purchase through the OfferUp buy sell and trade application someone in Florida add one that he got as a prize for making the most sales! So it has never been used and he was just looking to get rid of it. So I made a deal with him oh, and he is sending it through the mail to me
If you use it all day.. The battery life would last around pm.. Thats what i have noticed. If you dont use it much. It literally lasts all day. Currently its on 30 percent.

@@firsttwin929 go to brief notifications in the settings. You can set up a notification pop up. There's like two choices. One is a small bubble that shows some of the notification and the other one is a cool side light. Which just the edges of the phone light up. It's cool
Hi bro, there's one thing I don't understand on Lg G8! Infront of the notch there's little light flashing. Where can I activated that little light? Alpha
Tip #1... Yeah LG gives options and then takes them away. Unfortunately, LG stupidly forces users to turn off both dark mode and high contrast mode in the settings before allowing the use of the 'new second screen" or hide notch feature! Why? Because it's a half baked after thought, makes no sense but that's how it is. The Show lock/hide button on the left bottom and the rotate button on the bottom right of the navbar is really sweet though.
Why not include the customize Home Touch Buttons ? I guess LG is th every last that allow to re arrange Home buttons and more over to add more customization buttons there.
Oh you can customize the home buttons. You can customize the order, and the back ground color. You can even add a notification panel button, a screen capture button, and a Q slide button so up to 6 home buttons.
Can't you just double tap the notification bar to turn off the screen? Is it not working anymore? Sorry, my lg g4 beat is too old so I dont know if they have eliminated that gesture. I'm just kinda bothered that you always go to the homescreen to turn off the screen by double tap. Anyways, I love your tips and tricks videos about LG. Please keep doing videos like this. 2 questions, can I see battery percentage without having to pull down screen? Also how do I open the clock/alarm app quickly, such as in other phones just tapping the clock, but that doesn't work.
I bought $20 LG Phoenix 2 Brand New from Best buy in 2015 After Christmas sale one of the best phone and it has almost all of the features mentioned here, except for the new hand gesture which are absolutely ridicules..:) why would you wanna hold your hand over the phone and try to control things which takes more time and more mussels and hope it works...:) It does have few hand few productive hand gesture like every other phone for taking selfie etc. LG is how ever best choice in smart phones Samsung make you sign up for Samsung account to use some of the basic features like Lock or secure folder or getting wall paper and therms
I just got my G8 this past Friday. So far, it's been great. The most useless features on it are the hand/ palm unlock. It's not too accurate and takes much more time to use than face/ fingerprint unlock. The other useless feature is that air motion. Why is it even there? So what, you can open your choice if two preselected apps. Then what? Wow, my app is open. Hmm, I can't seem to preform a search on UA-cam by moving my hand around. Is there a secret way to teleport our hands maneuvers to pick and choose videos? Or to do anything else once the air motion opens the apps... Seems silly when I can simply press the UA-cam icon and then type in the search. Other than my rant above this phone is the best phone I've ever owned. Thanks for your tips and tricks video. It is real useful for me: I'm on UA-cam a lot while I do dishes, garden, and other stuff where my hand are icky. Nice that now I can pause my video (so often with kids!) change the volume, answer a call, etc without having to stop everything I'm doing and wash/dry hands. Sure, not earth shattering for everyone, but diff stuff for diff folks. I don't care about sound quality for example, but this is part is huge for me. And yes, it is really that effortless to use.
Price at One plus 7 pro s and T's, LG g8s gem of a phone. Its more fluidic than much hyped One plus. G8 camera s are not as great as Samsung flagships, pixels or iPhones but still offer much better setup than chinese. LG g8 has best video recording setup and one can make fantastic documentaries, small movies and recordings rivaling professional video eography machineries which no other smartphone manufactures can come near. LG needs to push there phones in market on grand scale.
On the front screen, where it has the google area that says "say hey google":...I have the temperature and my city, but how do I get it to where the time, month and day of the week are with it? Anyone know?

You can also use swipe down/up on the fingerprint sensor to bring down/up your notification bar. Its in settings

Because in the past I had have LG G3 but unfortunately it ruins all my hopes and everything it was just a piece of junk , Cause always its heat increase crazily even only for the normal use that's why I have changed it with Samsung S5 , it happened maybe 6 years ago so now I want to give LG a new chance and wish not let me down as in the past.

I am actually excited about the LG G8x. For the first time in years LG is on my radar again. Any manufacturer that says they don't have room for a 3.5 is lying. They are just pushing the cost of their bluetooth headphones up. Look at the rise in Beats and Airpods since Apple removed the 3.5.
Samsung is doing the same. At least Samsung supports all codecs unlike Apple.

I made a purchase through the OfferUp buy sell and trade application someone in Florida add one that he got as a prize for making the most sales! So it has never been used and he was just looking to get rid of it. So I made a deal with him oh, and he is sending it through the mail to me
If you use it all day.. The battery life would last around pm.. Thats what i have noticed. If you dont use it much. It literally lasts all day. Currently its on 30 percent.

How did you turn on the notification light or is it something else?
The blinking light is one of the sensors in the notch that you normally can't see but that cameras capture

@@firsttwin929 go to brief notifications in the settings. You can set up a notification pop up. There's like two choices. One is a small bubble that shows some of the notification and the other one is a cool side light. Which just the edges of the phone light up. It's cool

That is an infrared cam , u can only see it on the camera .. not by naked eye
Tip #1... Yeah LG gives options and then takes them away. Unfortunately, LG stupidly forces users to turn off both dark mode and high contrast mode in the settings before allowing the use of the 'new second screen" or hide notch feature! Why? Because it's a half baked after thought, makes no sense but that's how it is. The Show lock/hide button on the left bottom and the rotate button on the bottom right of the navbar is really sweet though.
Why not include the customize Home Touch Buttons ? I guess LG is th every last that allow to re arrange Home buttons and more over to add more customization buttons there.
Oh you can customize the home buttons. You can customize the order, and the back ground color. You can even add a notification panel button, a screen capture button, and a Q slide button so up to 6 home buttons.

Sorry, my lg g4 beat is too old so I dont know if they have eliminated that gesture. I'm just kinda bothered that you always go to the homescreen to turn off the screen by double tap.

I bought $20 LG Phoenix 2 Brand New from Best buy in 2015 After Christmas sale one of the best phone and it has almost all of the features mentioned here, except for the new hand gesture which are absolutely ridicules..:) why would you wanna hold your hand over the phone and try to control things which takes more time and more mussels and hope it works...:)
It does have few hand few productive hand gesture like every other phone for taking selfie etc.
LG is how ever best choice in smart phones Samsung make you sign up for Samsung account to use some of the basic features like Lock or secure folder or getting wall paper and therms

I just got my G8 this past Friday. So far, it's been great. The most useless features on it are the hand/ palm unlock. It's not too accurate and takes much more time to use than face/ fingerprint unlock. The other useless feature is that air motion. Why is it even there? So what, you can open your choice if two preselected apps. Then what? Wow, my app is open. Hmm, I can't seem to preform a search on UA-cam by moving my hand around. Is there a secret way to teleport our hands maneuvers to pick and choose videos? Or to do anything else once the air motion opens the apps... Seems silly when I can simply press the UA-cam icon and then type in the search. Other than my rant above this phone is the best phone I've ever owned. Thanks for your tips and tricks video. Nice job. 😀
I use the hand unlock when my phone is laying on charger pad on my desk
It is real useful for me: I'm on UA-cam a lot while I do dishes, garden, and other stuff where my hand are icky. Nice that now I can pause my video (so often with kids!) change the volume, answer a call, etc without having to stop everything I'm doing and wash/dry hands. Sure, not earth shattering for everyone, but diff stuff for diff folks. I don't care about sound quality for example, but this is part is huge for me. And yes, it is really that effortless to use.

Price at One plus 7 pro s and T's, LG g8s gem of a phone. Its more fluidic than much hyped One plus. G8 camera s are not as great as Samsung flagships, pixels or iPhones but still offer much better setup than chinese. LG g8 has best video recording setup and one can make fantastic documentaries, small movies and recordings rivaling professional video eography machineries which no other smartphone manufactures can come near. LG needs to push there phones in market on grand scale.
