When this miniseries came out in 89 I was a young gay man only 17 years old and fell in love with it. Having said that, the performances in this were stellar, all expect Oprah. Every time she'd open her mouth, it would make me cringe. I applaud her for producing the miniseries, but her performance was awful. One of the high points of the series was the soundtrack...they finally released the entire soundtrack on iTunes and I believe the entire score is available on UA-cam.
