- Saturday 2nd December saw me out once again, this time in somewhat artic conditions to capture 7029 at the head of The Polar Express, running top and tail with Tyseley's Class 47 No.47773 (D1755). With minus one temperatures forecast and rail strikes resulting in cancellations to National Rail Services, it was no surprise today was going to be a challenging one.
We kick things off at Small Heath South Junction, where 7029 is captured climbing out of Tyseley Locomotive Works over the Canal Bridge with the empty coaching stock for Birmingham Moor Street.
Our section shot takes us back to Birmingham where 7029 is captured rolling into Moor Street station with the return journey from Dorridge.
Our next shot takes us to Tyseley, where 47773 is seeing leading the formation through Tyseley Platform 1 with a Dorridge bound service.
Staying at Tyseley, we capture 7029 as she coasts Tyseley with the return service to Birmingham Moor Street.
Filmed on a Panasonic VXF990 with a Takstar SGC-598 Microphone.

Thanks Dan and likewise, Regards, Jake.
Great video Jake, some wonderful locations on show with great camera work too; I particularly enjoyed the shot of 7029 crossing over the canal at the beginning, very atmospheric! I saw this at Widney Manor on its 2nd trip of the day, we had a great run there and the frosty conditions enhanced the atmosphere too; this was probably one of my favourites to film in recent times! I've liked and subscribed to you accordingly.
Kind Regards,
Adam 🙂
Thanks Adam,
Glad you enjoyed it, it was certainly a challenging day with the temperature, I would of gone down to Widney Manor and got a similar shot to what you shared in your video, but due to several trains being cancelled and the cold weather I decided to head home.
Thanks for Subscribing to the channel, I've returned the favour.
Kind regards,
Jake
Thank you most kindly for doing that, Jake. 👍
