In this video share with you my latest Vintage Louis find: a gorgeous Vintage Louis Vuitton Montsouris GM Backpack. I found this beauty on eBay in really good pre loved condition. Can you believe this beauty is 17 years old?
There is light wear to this beauty. Gorgeous even honey patina throughout. Bright yellow stitching. Not one stitch out of place. Shiny brass hardware. Beautiful drawstring cord. Lovely webbed shoulder straps. No smell to the bag. No stains inside the bag. Beautiful throughout.
This is my fourth attempt at acquiring this bag.
My first attempt I bid on a fully stained one also from tig-japan & once I won the auction at 312usd I was like well...how do I clean up the dark stains on the vachetta? So I cancelled my win and kept searching.
My second attempt I had my heart set on this particular bag it had a white stain (which looked like toothpaste) inside the bag. The outside looked really good. I put my alarm 3 minutes before auction end just to figure out my max bid & hearts pounding I was outbid in the last 15 seconds at 580 I was so bummed. I hate that feeling of missing out on an item.
My 3rd attempt I saw one in really good condition. I said to myself I'm so sick of looking for a good one this is it and i'll pay whatever price. I set my max bid to myself to be 700aud. Do you know what it went up to 800usd which worked out to be 1030aud and I was thinking I'll bid an extra 10 dollars at 810 and won the auction. I thought to myself if that person was willing to pay 800 then what's an extra 10 dollars, then I thought that was way to much to pay for this bag & so I cancelled my win again. Mind you this is all from the same seller tig-japan.
And so todays video is my fourth attempt & my most happiest satisfying attempt of all. I found one at a price that suited me & in really good condition. Better than all the other three that fell through.
Winning an eBay auction is also so satisfying.

A little info on the Montsouris GM. This style was introduced in the early 90's and was discontinued around year 2000 correct me if I'm wrong. Louis Vuitton named the Montsouris after a famous park in France. There are 3 sizes of the Montsouris the PM, MM & GM. There are 2 variations of the Montsouris GM. The variations are dependant on the front pocket. One with lining and one without.
The difference: The one with the lining the fleur de lis lined up perfectly along the perimeter of the front pocket. Fleur de lis lined up perfectly along the back seams of the bag. Date code in on the inside of the bag on the D ring.
The one without lining in the front pocket. The Fleur de lis don't line up on the perimeter of the front pocket. Fleur de lis don't line up along the back seams of the bag. Date code is on the underside of the front buckle.

I love the aesthetics of it and did enjoy using it over a few years however I have since sold it. It was hard to get in and out of because of the buckle. Louis Vuitton have just released a new empreinte version with a magnetic closure and if I were to get another backpack that would be the one I would go for xox
