Excellent paint job and well constructed!! You are, however, missing the armor plate behind the pilots head that attaches to the canopy. This is no doubt because Airfix has seen fit to exclude this part from the kit altogether. Their E-3 has a similar problem. Airfix does not give you the right canopy to build the E-3 version. They give you the E-4 canopy instead. Even the part number is the same in both kits!!! A very glaring error by Airfix. What say you Airfix, can you be bothered to fix your errors?????
Great video! I learned a lot! my fave part is the rigging, totally buying the ammo of mig rigging and trying the heat shrinking, if this was Facebook I'd put an heart reaction to it! 😊
Very nice build but I have two question. First, why no swastika on the vertical stabilizer to preserve historical accuracy?, and second, a european camo scheme on the 109 with a desert landscape diorama?
thank you for your comment. I'll start with the landscape & camo question first. it's all yellow green grass and shrubs, leaning more towards autumn colors and really as a personal choice for the base. as for the swastika. Airfix does not supply swastika's within their kits, it's so they can sell their models in countries that have that symbol banned. but I'm also channel building and I have to dance a fine line of building models quickly to add more content in the short term and to not upset the UA-cam algorithms with open displays of swastika's. I have heard of channel receiving community strikes and take downs from thumbnails containing swastika's. it's something I'm avoiding for the time being. I will start adding them when I move into larger scale models and will deal with the risks then. I do know the real aircraft flown by Olerleutnant Anton schon, did have swastika's paint on the vertical stabilizer.
