I think that the symbolism of him cleaning the blood off the diorama, is that he is sacrificing his own physical and mental health, in order to maintain the fantasy, that the diorama and dolls represent. He is clinging onto the past in an obviously self destructive manner, which in the end leads to his death. You should check out *_Decapitated - One Eyed Nation,_* if you want something with relentless aggression! :)
The first song I heard by Opeth was on a Iron Maiden tribute album. They are by far my favorite band. I once was asked if I was on a desert island, what band's discography would I want to take with me and said OPETH HANDS DOWN. Every song has at least 3 different changes and singing style - I WOULD NEVER BE BORED.
You guys have to check out Immortal by Lorna Shore which is the title track to their upcoming album that's coming out in early 2020 I believe. All I can say is that its the best thing they've ever put out and I would compare it to something like Malediction by Shadow of Intent.
This song has a Folk/Pink Floyd type of feel. Great song & vocals. Cool video. I have noticed that more bands are putting out more animated videos,which are cool as well.
Well I kinda prefer the older stuff a bit more... Those new songs kinda have a better pacing but I don't quite get warm with their new style. I will give them some more shots.. maybe I will get and understand their "new" style. But again their pacing and video are really really good. Cheers ;)
Lorna Shore has just released what is in my opinion possibly the best song of the year, or at least in the deathcore genre. Vile, I know you weren’t huge on Death Portrait, but coming from someone who absolutely loved that song, Immortal is miles better. Like Malediction and When a Demon Defiles a Witch levels of greatness.
