I disagree based on scientific terms, while acknowledging we need better words for this. An individual being sexually attracted to their species' young is a phenomenon that occurs across nature. It has also been recorded culturally across the world, from Alexander the Great to Oda Nobunaga to the countless priests and stereotyped white vans. One of my neighbors was arrested for child porn, had to be questioned by cops as a teen if he had ever tried anything with me or my younger sisters (and I'm a child sex abuse survivor too smh).
So to maintain linguistic integrity: a sexuality describes who/ what an individual is sexually attracted to. Gay means same sex. Lesbian is the female gay. Bi means both sexes and so on. We don't have a word beyond the cringe MAP for that specific attraction, and pedophilia is the phenomena itself, so there is a word that needs developed for this sexuality.
Do I agree with it? No. N O spells no. Consent matters, and children are incapable of giving consent. Again, I'm a child sex abuse survivor (thanks dad). But like it or not people can and do wrestle with that attraction, and tbh the people who struggle and fight through it so they don't victimize a child are heroes. The same way a psychopath or sociopath can actively live within a moral system that prevents them from preying on others? The same way a thief can control sticky fingers through discipline and 'doing the right thing? The same way a recovered alcoholic can say no? That. That is why people attracted to non-traditional attractions themselves are not evil just because their brain is wired differently. They become evil should the ever cross the line and pursue a victim, let alone do any deed. Thoughts become deeds after all. But living with a condition/ sexuality is not and should not be considered the same thing as actively participating in the deed, which is why we need distinct words for a sexuality of attraction to minors, vs someone who has preyed on children following that desire. Pedophile/ sex offender are not mutually exclusive. One can be attracted to children without ever pursuing them, and lumping such a master of bodily autonomy in with the foulest, most selfish filth who did ruin lives for momentary pleasure is a social crime.
Be attracted to children, you have my pity but also my support so long as you don't act on it. Don't you dare create or consume child porn that victimized the actors. Don't you dare use a sexuality or "I'm just born this way" to ruin lives. Sex is not necessary to live; I'm celibate myself. Even then you could find a partner your own age, and while it might not be a Hollywood scene it would still be better in that relationship and support than preying on children and fantasizing until your thoughts become irreparable deeds. This goes to everyone struggling with an extreme condition- controlling your mind is the first step to preventing people from getting as hurt and broken as I am.

That there even is a need for this group in the first place when just, what, 10, 20 years ago, grooming was not allowed full stop.

My girlfriend has a close pal that is a gay dude. He is a total stereotype of a gay dude.
Hes a hairdresser, good looking, flamboyant, well dressed and he is pretty wild. He told me a story a while ago which honestly nearly brought me to tears and he said that most LGBT people have had this happen. He said he was at a bus stop dressed like a girl and a group started harassing him, they were drunk and started to get more and more aggressive, they grabbed his bag and poured it out, he said that everyone just looked away and didn't do anything, except one man, who he described as a older guy with a cowboy hat, a kind of redneck and this man acted like he was his friend and when they got on the bus he sat next to him acting like a friend and the group left him alone. He told me that when you are in trouble or danger it always seems to be the old conservative man that sticks up for you and he told me that the old guy in the cowboy hat told him after that he just hates bullies and he doesn't care who they are.
He says he always jokingly refers to the old stranger as " Captain America " when he tells the story 👍🏼

We do but it’s not going to happen. Most gay people are politically apathetic leftist right now. There are the gay republicans who are more politically aware, the gay leftist majority who don’t condone pedos or wokeness but vote left because republicans were homophobic in 2006, and then you have the queer activists who are not necessarily gay or lesbian but who lumped themselves onto our acronym. They are often straight white unattractive women with neo pronouns, colored hair and a neo sexuality. These are the people who are teaching kids about all the perverted stuff mostly. Many gays are just bar hoppers right now. The older gays have settled into a life of meaningless sex and high priced condos since homophobia stopped them from forming families. The young gays like me are all in the age where no one marries and has kids yet since at best 20 something gays and early 30 something’s can get married but children cost 100-200k via surrogacy. My generation will be the first large generation of gay men to marry and have biological kids on mass but that’s 10-15 years out for most of us. Parents care about parental issues. Random 20 something club goers rarely do. My point is due to homophobia in the past the elder gays who should have kids and be married and speaking up about this are single and childless (if they survived the AIDS crisis at all) and us younger gays who are more Republican/ politically diverse are all too young to have kids and marry and won’t be parents on mass for a decade

Months ago, I saw a video on insta of drag queens protesting on the street. They demanded to ban kids from drag shows & anything that has to do with drag queens & sexual shows. Lo & behold, so many alphabet people were mocking them & basically diswoned them from their alphabet group, calling them fake drag queens & posers. I have so much respect for those drag queens fighting for what's decent & correct.
So many alphabet people are actually against child exploitation & child exposure of anything sexual, but they're being silenced on social media. Some even called as homophobic or transphobic for fighting against grooming kids. Can you imagine? Homophobic gay men? Transphobic transwomen? It doesn't make sense! LMAO!

I think what it is is that people saw that god-awful show "I am Jazz" and thought that trans and drag are one in the same. They're not. Drag Queens plays a caricature of a woman. They know they're a caricature. They're not trying to present themselves as anything else. So now it's "support the trans community by supporting drag." And I remember thinking about how is respectful to the trans community to basically say their struggle with gender dysphoria is the same as dressing as a woman for entertainment. Those are two different worlds! But then I got to thinking, "Did anyone bother to see if fans of Drag queens, before it was cool to be a fan of drag queens, even want children? Anyone asks them?" The answer is "No."
For years lgbt people have been fighting against the stigma that gay and trans people are child groomers, however with those actual child exploiting lgbt people being out there and shouting louder than the normal crowd, it feels like all of this was in vain. People claim that lgbt people in the west are oppressed because of conservatives, but its actually those radical activists that are harming lgbt people.

As a gay person in this political climate, it’s hard to voice your opinion within the “community” without being demonized and called a self hating gay and losing all your friends. Idk as someone who was groomed as a teenager in middle school & highschool, this is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. It really messed me up and to have a majority of a generation end up feeling that way because we’re lettiing these freaks get their way? It’d be chaos.

I was arguing online with a woman who didn't like my views on the LGBTQ community. In the end, she asked me, "why should you care?" I told her, I'm gay and I have seen the harm of the LGBTQ community and don't want young gay people to sell their souls to a passing trend. This completely confused her and she kept telling me that I was "supposed to be in the community where I belong," as she thought that gay people HAVE to go into the LGBTQ community.

I've had so much cringe towards Pride Month for years and other DAYS like it that it bothers me with lots of my gaming friends not even condemning heinous acts towards kids IN THE NAME OF LGBT INCLUSIVITY. I've retweeted many of Gays Against Groomers tweets to try to convince my gay friends to get on board with this, but I'm largely ignored about it (probably for the fact I'm very outnumbered for my beliefs on subjects like this). But I'm not giving up cuz they need the truth one way or another.

not sure. maybe because those are life ruining accusations to whomever gets thrown into that category and there must be proof before judging or punishment. the courts decide if someone is guilty not you, not the mob. remember, its acting on it that makes it a crime. if there is hope for anyone with an unsavory appetite to seek help, they must not fear to be immediately stoned by anyone who finds out by way of gossip.

Alison Bailey, a lesbian barrister, nearly lost her job for the same reason. Another lesbian was called a 'sexual racist' for stating she would never sleep with a trans woman.
