Great video Brian! I feel the pain on not hitting record. I did that one time. Had some back up audio but it was garbage. Love the DOs and DON’Ts. I especially find value in the last one. Engage, interact and encourage people doing similar stuff in similar spaces.
You forgot to hit record 😂 I would’ve been so frustrated afterwards until I don’t know if I would have been able to try recording again the same day. It’s great that you were able to get the job done.
I know I’m a little late to the party but if I have an audio only podcast do you recommend I pair clips with some eye-catching but unrelated video? Or no video, only audio?
great question! In this case, I would only pair it with video IF it's related to what you're talking about on the podcast. I wouldn't use just random eye-catching b-roll. A couple things you could do: 1. film short segments of your podcast on your phone and post those as shorts or reels. 2. use AI generated captions and create video clips that feature your podcast logo and the captions displaying dynamically as you are speaking. 3. record separate promo clips to share when your episodes release. “On this week’s podcast my guest is…. who will help you…”
Great video bro. Been following you for a bit. Seriously thinking about starting a podcast. question: I have a YT channel, when i record a podcast and upload on youtube, is it the same as uploading a video as far as exposure? Should i record a podcast and upload then re-edit for a separate YT video upload?
If you are planning to do a video podcast and upload to youtube, there shouldn't be any need to upload, re-edit and then upload it as a separate YT video. I'd suggest creating a separate playlist on your existing channel and labeling it as a podcast. You may find even greater exposure that way for the podcast. It will be searchable on YT along with all your other videos, but by designating it as a podcast it will also be available on YT Music which could expand your reach.
Great and very interesting content! I love your style. Keep on podcasting!!
Thanks @cesarcarracedo6049!

Unfortunately that's not the first time I forgot to record. Accidentally did the same thing when recording for a client... twice. :)

Honestly, it probably wouldn't have been a great episode if I had recorded that time and just ran with it. Sometimes those mistakes are for the best 😆
Thank you for the tip about engaging in someone else’s content.
Do unto others, right?
