I’ve literally just plugged one of these in to my network! Now I’m looking forward to your next video!
It’s my understanding that the early models were shipped with the AD9364 (which is a 6GHz part), just because the lower spec AD9363 parts weren’t available to be populated at the time. The later modules were then built with the 3.8GHz AD9363 parts. So, if you override the device setting, it may not actually function as expected or meet the AD9364 specifications.

Ahhh yes, I just read about earlier models being slightly different, which makes my point in the video about the power level testing a bit obsolete.

It would be nice if a group of individuals would work on a project for these full duplex SDR devices. We would all like to have access to a service monitor capable of analogue and digital comms. Various signaling modes (ctcss, dcs, P25, DMR, D-Star, Nexdn, Yaesu Fusion, and the list goes on.) deviation meter, a nice GUI that would mimic the control panel of a true service monitor without the exorbadent price of an IFR, Cushman, Marconi or Motorola. I am sitting on an old IFR here in the EU and sending it back to the states would cost as much as the repair ( you always wind up spending over $1K for repairs) not to mention hassles with customs.

@@TechMindsOfficial and if you ever want to make use of the "TX" bit - get an amateur radio license first.
      Everything thing else is ILLEGAL.
Neither us, not professional radio services think it is funny to have armies of nerds, ignorants, trolls and assholes transmitting and interfering with our bands.
And trust me, we are better at triangulating the source than you think. "FOX HUNTING" is a fun sport for both the goverment,
as well as rage-equipped legit users with very interesting, and usually expensive consequences.
You may want to add a disclaimer hinting at the required amateur radio license requirement for "TX"ing - into your description.
It was especially missed at 6:26 where you recommend a resonant antenna, but beeing legal does not seem to be high on the list of your concernes.
Surely, although a pirate yourself, you want to avoid the video to stay online, and people looking deeper into your other activities - perhaps add the disclaimer then.

Just to mention and compairing with the hack RF for amateur satellite aplication such a APRS DP, FM voice repeat or listening CW Beacon on VHF 2m it will be necessary an upconverter/downconverter for receiving/transmiting, instead of Hack RF no.
What a pitty it is not support on 2m VHF. But in UHF 70cm would be good.

Neat piece of gear. Had one for over a year. I'm working on packaging it better, updating the LO and adding additional GPIO.
You can also use it for a Network Analyzer with other software and standardizing the RF I/O ports with 50 ohm 10 db attenuators.
I'm working on building a dedicated Raspberry Pi 4 system to control it, making a stand alone network controlled general purpose test and radio device.

Depends on the use case. This is intended as a learning tool for college students, to be used for labs and experiments. Design compromises had to be made to keep the price down to affordable levels--the transceiver IC in the Pluto alone costs $130 (and I'm assuming it's just a down-binned version of the 9361 which is even pricier). These compromises limit the usefulness of the Pluto as an SDR that could be used in a non-development setting. Example: the Pluto has a square wave LO, which means it will also transmit an image of your intended signal on every odd harmonic. Definitely don't hook this up to a PA without good filtering. You might get a visit from the FCC, or worse, break your PA.

Are these coherently tuned and she using similarly to the way that you use a kraken for directions and finding and or confuse them with separate antennas with different range sweet spots or can you combine them to improve the reception using a pair of identical antennas will that help reduce your SNR?
