Hi. Just wanted to thank you for posting this video. The prewired connection at the rear of the Tractor for the LED saved me a ton of effort and I would not have known it was there without your video. Thanks ever so much!!!
Excellent idea! I did mine just last weekend. I did light bars and switches for front and rear using angle iron and the canopy ubolts. Those magnets are definitely a good idea for your needs! I got most of my ideas right here on UA-cam. It’s always good folks documenting things like this. It gives others ideas and options to think about. Well done.
I have been moving plenty of snow in northern Wisconsin. Been moving quite a bit to the back field so my wife can see when backing out of the driveway. Got to keep her happy
While researching an easy way to add a light I came across your video. I ordered the same parts you used, just arrived today, & am looking forward to installing them tonight. The cost for the light, magnets & wire from Amazon is bit higher now (April, 2022). It totaled $43.47
I always appreciate your projects, I learn a lot. I finally got to use my plow (AF10F) twice here in the pacific NW. Very pleased. I thought that I would have traction problems with no chains but with the backhoe on I had enough weight to plow through dry and wet snow. Of course you can't let the wet snow build up too much. Keep those vids coming!
I liked what you did last year with the LED lights and magnets so I did the same. I liked what you did with the light bar in this video so it looks like I've got another project to do. Thanks for sharing :)
Very nice mod. My set up is very similar, but I used the 2-way Delphi Metri-Pack 150 connector in the wiring harness above the left rear axle instead of the SAE bullet connectors. Looks like yours are being used for something else already (minute 2:46). Great channel, BTW. I love your videos. Cheers.
Very informative video! Where did you get the bullet connectors? Do you have a link? I've heard many are different than the ones needed for JD connectors. I just received my 12'' light and looking to do the same as you. Thanks again!

Hello! This is the best video that I have seen for installing the LED light bar. I am curious if after 10 months of use...are you are still pleased with the lights you purchased, and if they are still working okay. Would you go with another brand or stick with the Nilight? Thanks!
@@ataleofthreecabins1025 Thank you. I have a 36 watt light on order. My GC 1715 has a canopy. One bullet connector at the rear (+). Magnets will be my choice for mounting. Put the light where it works best for my needs.
I took the caps off, which has the connectors on them and took them to my local auto parts store (auto zone) and match them up. Here is the wire I usedwww.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N7CEV00/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
How did you find out about the spare wire on your tractor? I have a 3025E and would like to add lights on it, but my owner's manual doesn't have any wiring diagrams.
Dean Levang I read on a forum that those wires were place there if you upgraded to have the LED work lights to the ROPS added as an option from John Deere. That makes me wonder if you had that option also.
Really liked the instruction and sharing this lighting modification. I did the same on my 2020 1025r with the forward leaning ROPS and notice the light will fall off when pushing snow. I might try using zip ties to save my skull! Has anyone had their light bar slide forward and off the ROPS?
Thanks for this. Is the spare JD purple/black wiring capable of carrying the load to service the light mod? Does anyone know if doing this work will invalidate new tractor warranty?
The light bar is 72 watts. I've ran it for a few hours at a time an have not had any issues. As for the warranty, really didn't modify anything with the tractor. I could pull off the magnets, unplug the wires, and put the cap back on. Take Care, Tom

If you feel ambitious you can change out your regular headlight bulbs and fender light bulbs on your tractor to LED bulbs. Makes a big difference.
Was thinking the same thing. Did my bulbs this past week, big difference. Light bar will be next.
A worthwhile project well done. The magnets work so well with the light bar that they could have been an accessory.

Don't worry, northeast Ohio will always get snow, might be April but you'll get it

Waiting for snow here too in central Ohio. I appreciate your videos!
A very nice accessory. I need to do this to my 3025e J.D. You done a great job with yours. Thank you.
thanks for sharing, video really shows how bright they are
mine arrived yesterday 👍🏻
Too much snow here in Northern Michigan. Great job on the lights!

Autozone
I see you checked Continuity on the purple and black wire in the rear. will both show ground when key is off then only one with key on.
Do you feel better now that we got snow on Saturday and Sunday? I was able to get the tractor and snowblower out and have some fun on Monday
Yep, mostly used the bucket. My plow didn't work out to good, needed harder packed snow for that.
Awesome video thanks for sharing I have a larger led light bar just kinda wondering if it would still work to wire where you hooked into for power
Probably, my light bar is 72 watts.
I enjoy your videos ! Keep them coming
Can you share the part numbers and where you purchased both the light and the wire? Great Video!

do you have a hyperlink for the wire?

I like the light and install. Where did you get the cover on the rear PTO spline?
It came with my 2018 1025R.
Looks good . I guess you didn't have to add a switch . Looks like those wires where already hooked to the light switch on the tractor.
Yes, it was pretty simple and there was another set of wire unused on the right side too.
Hello! Wondering if you can still fold your ROPS down to every position with this install?? Thanks in advance !
Yes, however I did protect the wire with corrugated wire tubing.

So far so good. I bought some more for my UTV.
@@ataleofthreecabins1025 Thanks for the quick reply...ordering them now. Really enjoy your videos!
The way you connected the LED with using the existing tractor wiring: did that eliminated the need for a relay?
Yes, did not use a relay. I can’t speak for wanting a larger wattage though.

The thing with hitch attachment
Can you put a link to the wiring piece? Matching up the bullet connector is the trick.

Do you need a fuse or simply attach directly? Regards, Doron
Directly, already uses a fuse in the block
@@ataleofthreecabins1025 Thank You! Have a great holiday season my friend!
Any concern with the magnets rusting?
Not yet, but I keep my tractor indoors and try not to work in the rain.

Only had them come off if I fold my ROPs back and hit large bumps at a high speed. In the upright position they stay solid.
Nice lil project! Are you going to replace your headlights with LED's as well?
Voltage is not an issue right now, but I may in the future.
Very nice
I couldn’t see the location where you bought the 12” light bar. $19.99 seems like a great bargain. Much more at Atwoods and Harbor Freight.

@@ataleofthreecabins1025 Great..Thanx!
What size bullet connectors do I need?
16-14 gauge bullet terminal, male .176” same for the female
A Tale of Three Cabins thank you for replying. I have searched all over Amazon and can’t seem to find any that say “.176”
I got them from autozone.
