A comparison between carbons would be great (Adapt Brutale, AG10, Tactical v1, Seba CJ, USD Carbon)

I tried on all of the following (not skated) within a day basically. Simply the fact that they are carbon I would say does not make them necessarily more similar to each other than they might be to certain non-carbon skates. I just got my Factions today and would say they remind of Fattys in some ways (but much more snug/secure feeling),l. The fit is like a glove for me (size 10 and they’re tight but I think once the liners break in and/or with heatmold they’ll be about right), but there is great forward/backward flex. Like they feel robust enough to be stable and durable but they let you bend like your body bends (unlike say adapts that force your ankle to stay in one position unless you lace/buckle very very loose... USD carbons are also way more rigid (not forward, but side to side). USD’s feel very small on your leg, like quads almost, but very stiff side to side. Sebas are taller and stiff. For me Factions is what I wanted. Plenty of support, locked onto my foot well but really moves with me. For reference, I typically buckle about medium and never mess with laces much (whereas some guys like to be tightly laced in. Maybe my feet are just wide enough I’ve never felt the need for tight lacing).... anyway, initial impressions 🤷🏻♂️ ... I would liken then to Solomons sorta in terms of “bulk”, it’s a plenty beefy skate but it’s actually more low profile than I was expecting.

These skates look amazing. The sound is great. On the unboxing vid I was on the fence about look of soulplate. Once you put them on they looked dope not akward at all. I am sold. One day…. Great job Faction🙌

This was some of the smoothest skating i’ve ever seen on your channel. Not technically with tricks, although some sick tricks, but comfort wise, you could watch and see exactly what you meant by an extension of your body. I also enjoy no music at times like the start. I just want to hear the skates “talk” at times. Like a car video, I enjoy hearing the sockets turn and the car in motion. Love that they are like iqons at a lower price point. Great review and great skating, per usual. Never skip leg day, we all enjoy the videos lol 🤙🏻

At first I was just lookin that this skate was a tank given that it's fat (at least in my opinion) and will not response good based on your foot's movement.
But watching you skate, this is the smoothest sesh you had on with a certain skate! 💪💪💪

Yo, I just got mine in literally hours ago, size 10 (I’m size 9.5 in K2 and 10-10.5 in Salomon). I was immediately surprised pulling them out of the box, they aren’t as chunky as I was expecting. I’d previously tried on an 11.5 and it fit like a glove except loose at the toes. The 10s are quite snug. Anyway, they’re NOTHING like the boats that ~2011 or so Remz were. They fit super snug, dont feel loose/delayed at all. So if you get the right side (check the sizing /shell break chart too), I doubt you’ll have an issue (unless you have rather narrow feet. Perhaps heat moulding could help with that or an even thicker liner).
PS. There’s almost no rise in the heel (like old K2) which is one reason they’re intuitive - your motor skills don’t have to compensate for a riser under your heel - topsides for example your foot is actually parallel to the ledge instead of at an angle.

I dig that the skates are not that fat/not slim. Just playin at the sweet spot! I also love the fact that the boot can be mounted with different soulplate options unlike the skates that has special plate design that you need to dremel or grind off something to fit a plate of your choice. @@AtongAndal for sure. I haven't skated mine yet (gotta get some better frames), but they feel just great. Fat enough and if you want em any thinner, just heat mold the shell (with or without heat molding the liner, I think, don't see why not).

My brother in law designed the soul plates for these. Seems to be a mixed bag of reviews so far. Personally, I'm a big fan.
I’m much more interested in performance than appearance, and they perform exceptionally well.

These look amazing but I just got the FR AP for the size 13/14 available and wide toebox reviews plus their noted lightness and performance fit AND great Intuition liners included. Reminded me of everything I've gotten out of my Dalbello Pantera ski boots for shredding the slopes on RVL8 and Spruce skiboards.
I see these skates and I immediately think about dremeling the corner off that soul plate.

It's a great looking skate. The only thing throwing me off about them, is the look of the soul plate. Not sure if I'm the only one, but to me, the soul plates just seem out of place. I get the feeling that the USD 7/GAWDS plates would suit the skate a lot more. I really like how they've done the boot and liner.

Can you make a video showing off ONLY your switch tricks? I mean you are great at blading, regardless. I think you deserve to be at the very least AM on some big company. You do more big rails and crazy switch ups then most pros today. That being said, I would like to see your switch tricks, you rarely do any in your videos I noticed. I make sure that I can at least do my basics in switch. Nowadays it's on prails and benches mostly lol. I'm just curious what someone as good as you can do switch. In my teens in the late 90s I switch royaled to switch allyoop souled(the lurch trick) the banks 13 while it was still accessible in the late 90s. That is probably my best trick ever, or switch backslide on the banks 13. Switch royales came very easy to me because my natural frontside is actually the same way as my switch royale, so I had no fear of jumping to an obstacle that way. But I struggled with most other switch tricks aside from soul.

I did slide it once, I personally didn’t find it to be an issue that would effect my opinion on the skate.

Just FYI, on a size 10, which granted is the top size for the medium soul plate, there’s barely any soul plate hanging out to the side of the actual boot (except in the back). I was actually thinking about making them narrower souls (because I like to be close to the ledge) but they don’t stick out as much as I thought they would. That’s for the size 10, “his” are 9 in this video.

@@pogoSK8 On size 10 (granted top of the medium soul plate boot sizes) it's not that big. I think black ones might be coming out. Part of what makes it look huge is that the boot is low profile at the heel (it's not a narrow boot in general, fit is good, a little thinner than salmons, definitely thinner than superwide remz, definitely wider in the front half than USD carbons), so you notice it sticking out in the back. One easy way to "fix" this visually might be to get a black paint marker and black out the top of it? Just a thought (or dye the whole thing a darker color, lighter colors always appear larger than darker ones - why black pants are so popular, make people look skinny).

I think it really boils down to your budget and aesthetic preference. I personally believe I would be equally happy on either. Best of luck.
Also, they’re both *sorta* semi-soft on top but I think over time the Faction is probably a bit more toward the “softboot” end of the spectrum than IQon. Keep in mind I just mean on top of the foot (around the base is carbon of course)...
@@iRollerboot yo, are the Iqons a little stiffer in cuff area than your experience w Factions? I know the carbon doesn’t go up as high in Factions as USD for example.

@iRollerboot Question for you: between IQON and Faction, which had more forward flex in the cuff? Also, which had more room around the toe box? Aeons fit me the best (I have long, skinny feet) but I need a good UFS boot. Thanks, many blade and soap blessings ⛸🧼🐬
Hard for me to give an accurate opinion on the faction’s toe box since they were too small. As far as forward flex…trying to recall - but I don’t seem to remember there being noticeable difference between the 2. Admittedly, I don’t seem to notice differences in forward flex very often tbh. I seem to recall that the toe box of the ag10 seems similar to the aeon. I’ll do my best to answer any other questions.
