I realize this is an older video. But I feel the need to make a comment about this controller board. I too INITIALLY thought my two capacitors were toast...until I realized they much have dried the controller boards standing up on end after coating them and that is the reason for the bulges on those two caps. They are merely resin drips that cured in that fashion. And if you do any research on the repair kits for these controller boards, not one of them have those two caps in the kits for replacement. And that is because they are not bad, only resin bulges. Hope this helps some...
im not trolling you but i just had 2 in a row that the wire feed completely stop working... had a cheap harbor freight welder that has ran miles of wire... and between 2 Hobart welders i havent even gotten through a half spool... i dont know if its bad luck or bad product but this is ridiculous
I'm having a issue where my 135 loses voltage at 15 minutes. Every day. I called and talked to Scott at Hobart and he said sounds like a diode issue. Has anyone had this kind of problem and if so how did you fix? I don't know much about this stuff as why I am here. A new board costs more than a new Welder. I'm welding 30 Ford model a coupe. So not thick metal at all.
Sound like the problem I had . You need the kit and the skills to install it on your board .. Very common issue on the Miller , Hobart and Lincoln small welders ! Hobart is just easier to fix and cheaper to buy from the start .. Te kit is on the part 2 of this repair.. Thanks !!
@@shawnmrfixitlee6478 Just desolder and resolder yeah? I can handle that. Do I need to depower the capacitor like on a microwave so I don't get a jolt?

I'll order the parts and give it a go. The board costs more than a new welder!Welder!! Insane. Like a cars computer costs more than the car. I hope that all this BS gets better. It's hard enough on us who fix our own things already.

That's why I test each component , Mine had one cap that was way out of spec so I did them all just because I was already rebuilding the board ..

I have this same exact welder and those 2 capacitors have bulges in them as well. Have you replaced them, and if so, did this work??
Yes , I did the caps and the relays as well ! The kit has all the parts in it you need . Mine works SWEET !! Thanks ..

Did not say it was made by them .. I said "HARBOR FREIGHT SELLS HOBART WELDERS ! " Just as tractor supply and many others do......
