I know this was 2 years ago but have you tried the rattle cans from Lidl ( When on offer, middle aisle), they have Red, Silver,, Grey, Black and Green, 400ml cans £2.49 each of 2 for £4, it's a 2 in 1 paint and lacquer, you can lacquer over it for added protection, I use it on all the lawnmowers I've done, the Red is really good match, the also do a spray undeseal I use that on the bottom of the decks.
Great job I had a mate back in the day that re sprayed his car and couldn’t wait for it to dry He took it out for a drive around the block when he got back it was covered in flys We called him “Buggy” after that
Well done buddy welcome to my life, the mowers I get nearly all need some serious restoration. It’s made me a better welder and painter I use 2k stuff primer and lacquer may be a small cheap spray gun if your going to do more . Looks amazing thanks for sharing happy cutting week.
Only Thing I Would Change Is The Color, Because I Prefer Red .Because Most Honda's Are Red. But That's My Preference Only. I Know It Was Black /Grey .Not Knocking It Otherwise . Good Job Mick
Cracking job, I may have missed it but is that lacquer petrol resistant? I’ve done s few paint jobs on mowers over the years, it really satisfying making them good as new again. Good vid👍
@@themowerman it helps to thin the lacquer slightly which in turn helps it exit the can more evenly. It reduces the small chance of any clumps and reduces the chance of an orange peel effect. The petrol resistant can lacquers have a tendency to clump or spray unevenly. Try to steer clear of Halfords own brand petrol resistant lacquer. It's unfit for purpose.
Hello mate. Love the channel. I see you've got a BMC Big 20 in that lot. I need a new primer bulb for one I've just been given for nothing but cant find spares anywhere. Any suggestions please, greatly received.👍
@@themowerman After hours of trawling, the only people I can find with similar BMC machines are this lot www.ukhs.tv/BMC-17-139cc-Self-Propelled-Petrol-Lawn-Mower The primer looks the same to me. I'm speaking to them this week and will let you know how I get on.
Looks great after your work. Surprised what you can do

Yeah mate it's one of the questions I asked when picked some up
piston rings 14 " suffolk punch
Did you place the can of lacquer in warm water before you used it?
No is that what you do
@@themowerman it can help with some spray can lacquers. Especially the petrol resistant ones.
