Great video mate, very well put together and loved the intro! The Edeuoey one looks exactly the same as a budget chair we can get there by Trekology, they are pretty decent. I have a sit pad and a budget chair, but it was from a supermarket here in the UK and only £17 included the square sink mat. Bargain!! I was planning on getting a Helinox and probably still will eventually, but this Adventureridge one I currently have has done my very proud so far. Great watch... thanks! ATB... Chris
@@BackpackingwithBuckley Yeah thats what has held me back, the AdventureRidge one I have is really comfy. It is featured in my camp video near the aircraft crash site. Gotta love a bargain haha and the sink mat has helped loads if ive been in the boggy moors or when I did my woodland hammock camp. Thanks again! 😊👍🏻
Living on a prayer, one of my favourites, I just came across your channel and checked out a few of your vids you’ve got a ton of good stuff on here! You’re super comfortable on this as well made me realize I gotta get better on my videos haha Let us know if you want supportive friends be present on all of your uploads
Good morning Tim, cheeky video and thankfully not half arsed, all best to hit it with both cheeks! Love the review and as always love you Mr Buckley, catch you soon, Ceri and Kat ☕ ❤ 😀
I have a couple of those Alite Monarch Butterfly type chairs that you have to balance in. Super comfy though deadly at the same time! 🤣 Balance Grasshopper Balance! I’m probably too old and stiff to sit down in it these days! It was great at the time though! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Tim. I'll stick with the sit pad for backpacking for now, just on weight alone. But a couple of those Edoueys would go great in the campervan in place of the heavy bulky chairs we currently carry👍 Cheers for the comparison!👍
I just received 2 of those chairs. Everyone is doing reviews. I’m not sure what else there is to say about them. I do think it’s very comfortable. Good job Tim. 👍
Two!!?? You are big time pal! I was already at wits end too seeing there are dozens of us that got them. Lol. I have NO DOUBT you will come up with something! Perhaps how compact they are and the fact that they are beefy enough for NORMAL camp chairs? Perfect for van life?
The number 3 is an option I would love to be able to get one day, if I have extra cash to spare. I agree, all three of these can be used in different situations, depending on your need. I only have a budget option chair right now and I only take that when I don't hike it very far cause even 2 pounds make me more miserable on a long hike, LOL.
Good comparison! So far I've stuck with a budget option, but that Helinox zero is just so light! For now there are other things I'll spend $120 on, but a Helinox zero may be in my future. Always appreciate your perspective on things!
I have the rei version and I never use it lol. Even when I bring it along it becomes my freakin junk drawer in the woods. My catch all if you will. I don't sit down I guess, wow. I just pace around all alone. Man my life is sad, I need a drink. Great video Tim!!! Keep up the great job!!! Happy Trails 👣
I won the edeudey recently and I enjoyed it so far. It's a nice height, not terribly heavy (I mostly truck/car camp so weight isn't an issue), cool colors, and packs pretty small. Will be getting a couple more of them. And also, $120 for a camp chair is just crazy to me. Thanks for the video!
It's more comfortable than the $120 chair. I've had it a while now and its official. That being said, the $120 chair is a full pound lighter which is HUGE in my world. I'm old and every ounce counts. 😀
@@BackpackingwithBuckley I wouldn't mind something lighter. I have a big pack that I'd like the be able to grab and put in the car, fill up a cooler and go. I don't go backpacking so a pound isn't a huge deal having a vehicle close by, but I wouldn't mind some more compact and light gear just in case
@@night23fox the budget chair is an awesome chair. If you're packing for light, just go with a sit pad. I rarely camp in spots that don't have a log or something to sit on or lean against.
Just brought my Moon Lence chair with me on my last backpacking trip. It may way 2.24 lbs but it is worth it. Sitting at camp with my friend around the camp fire it was AWESOME!!!! Keep it up.
Hey Fonzy! Apparently I was 2 years off on reviewing camp chairs! We did the Sportneer = (Edeouyeeouyeauyuy) vs the REI Flexlight Air = (Helinox) All pretty great chairs depending on needs and feels! We bought all ours..... cause no one sends us free stuff..... 😭 Cool music, Baby Bon Jovi was spot on!!
Don't fret....you will soon be receiving offer for free stuff too! Your channel is great and your subs are about to the point where I started getting offers to review products. They are all good options, I agree!!
My husband and I love our Edeuoey camp chairs, and we often bring them backpacking despite the weight. Sadly, they no longer seem to be available, though other brands of inexpensive camp chairs have come out.
Kyle Hates Hiking has taught me that I shouldn’t use a chair. Now I just stand all the time. Maybe I should look at getting that foam butt recliner. Epic beard Tim.
Kyle thinks he knows everything and walks 25 mile days. Haha. There have been times when I'm ecstatic about brining my chair, but other times, it serves as a shelf for my crap. Lol. Im hoping the beard turns all white one of these years so I can get a mall Santa job. 😀
Your in rocky territory unlike some of us which are in lose soil ( Sand ) and the rest. Something that has happen to me with chairs like that. Here in Florida they sink into the ground. Those little pointy legs slowly sink till you might as well be sitting on the ground. I located a mesh net that fits between the legs of the chair so when it starts to sink the net stopped it. The net is attached the same way the chairs seat is attached. The end of each leg fits into a holder at each corner of the netting. It works a lot better then using a tennis ball on the end of each leg. I gave my Edeuoey type to my grandson and keep the Helinox Zero , Big Mistake , should of been the other way around.
I watch a lot of UA-cam, I think it's better than t.v. Of the channels I watch I think you get more laughs per episode than the others. The graphics on this were up there with your IB Tat impersonation.
Excellent topic my friend! I have the sit pad and after several years of use, I will say that adding an ultralight chair to your gear set up is a must! I have the REI Flexlite Air Chair but have been looking at the Helinox Zero because of all of the great reviews. Would you upgrade or just sit it out for the next best thing to be released?
@@BackpackingwithBuckley Yep! The weight is the same but didn't know if there was a difference in comfort or design. The Flexlite has been great so far with no issues. Will have to check out the Edeuoey as it would be a great option to keep on hand or throw in the car. Thanks for info my friend!
They are throwing so many of those chairs to channels for free, I don't know how they're keeping the price for them where it is. It's really illustrating the frustration I have with so much outdoor gear right now. Someone wants to charge $150 for a 40l backpack, and you can get one on Amazon for $25. Put them side by side and is the $150 better? Ok, but it's not 5x better. It's not even 2x better. The difference between $20 hiking pants and $100 hiking pants is another one. Those 2 camp chairs. The list goes on. I don't mind paying a little more for quality in most cases, but the price difference compared to quality difference in a lot of these cases is silly.
It is definitely frustrating with ALL the options. I try to ship ethically and support small companies most of the time but there are times when you are shelling out a small fortune for something you can get a LOT cheaper. These chairs thankfully all have good qualities!
@@BackpackingwithBuckley Yeah, we want to support local as well, but we've got 4 people to kit out. I remember getting spikes this past winter. Local shop wanted $80 a set. Had it just been me, I'd probably have done it, but I was able to get all 4 sets online for that price. It's not even close sometimes, and I have to wonder why there is such a massive difference in price like that. Anyway, thanks for another great review!
I have the budget sportneer I think it's the same chair and I love it especially for the height and comfort I've used the helinox chair and I'm not a fan it's to low narrow and unstable for me... But I'm not an OZ snob base weight is BS and hike your own hike lol
The Helinox seves it's purpose but the budget chair is legitimately more comfortable. I hike a lot of different distances and the weight is no big deal at all for me on shorter hikes!
I would rather lug around the extra pound for the $30 chair. there is a sub 2lb budget chair w/o carry case (not trekology) on amazon and it is not as sturdy...the helionox?!? just look at it..IMHO it's one of the biggest scams going on in the hiking/backpacking world right now. there is no new design, no new materials, just less materials using lower center of gravity for its stability (which isn't much) and I've seen youtubers break them...the budget chair you can almost just plop down on it, lean back and relax.
I agree! I have uses for both chairs but if I had a choice, I'd generally bring the budget chair. Sometimes a pound matters but most hikes, it doesn't really.
