Love Devotion Surrender. Truly one of the best dual electric guitar albums ever created! I bought it in 1973 at the age of 13yrs... and very little - if anything - has compared to it since then. Coincidentally, it was at the same time Caravanserai came out, and Lotus - two of Santana's most magnificent recordings. I cannot think of any live Santana album that surpasses Lotus. That was about 3 months worth of pocket money blown on just those 3 albums - which meant a lot of car washing for neighbors up and down my street 😁 Thank you bigfoot for this experience...Shri Chimnoy bless you!
Incredible album and guitarists, thanks for posting this from their live tour, damn, wish I had seen it, saw the Mahavishnu Orchestra the previous year. Fantastic stuff, real music, improvised interplay at the highest level.
This was a great performance. A friend of mine and I had seats to the right of the stage, and we could look down and see the performance beautifully. We were a bit elevated, and the sound just washed over us. The recording cannot do justice to what occurred live, though it is much easier to make out the players here. Having been free of alteration for the past 35 years, I enjoy the music even more than I did that evening. A fabulous line-up.
It really was. "Caravanserai" and "Visions of the Emerald Beyond" were also part of it. Something somehow opened up and the inspiration came out in a torrent.
@@gj8683 I completely agree with you. "Caravanserai" is the Santana album that I love most and "Visions of the Emerald Beyond" is an album with a unique spiritual power.
I saw this same lineup at the small auditorium Santa Monica Civic in 1973 and it was guitar noodling all night long. I love guitar heroes, but after a while at the concert. After one instrumentals sounded like the one that came before I became a little burned out on this. I realize I like this stuff in smaller doses.
Love this Phase of Carlos and John's evolution to Bodhisattvaness...
Caravanserai is my favorite Album of his & the Love Supreme
Awesome guitarists at peak of powers Larry Young and Cobham the bestest!

A Magical period that unfortunately never comes back. Thank you so much for posting this Incredible live concert.
And we've been blessed to have lived this.

Aqui dois excelentes guitarristas num encontro musical magnífico e inspirado. Estavam numa fase fortemente espiritual/musical. Obrigado ao canal.

tanto virtuosismo tira a coñazo
lamentablemente, no es lo mismo.....otra cosa era SANTANA BAND
great musicians.... religiously bigots.... like a lot of rock and jazz musicians....
Bigots are those who impose their beliefs upon others, not.the case here, at all...
@@bigfootpegrande Santana is a sort of bigot... he is preaching his belivings all the time...
