Fantastic video. The first thing that led me to falling in love with hip hop production was the vast knowledge of various genres that came from beatmakers. Unfortunately I've just been skipping through albums for samples and not really enjoying the music for what it is. For a while I was constantly sending my friends tracks from obscure Japanese Jazz albums regardless of if I could flip it or not.
Thanks for the brazilian playlist! I've already fallen in love with Eliana Pittman!

Love this comment, thank you! I too fell for hip hop production because of the rich history and endless love of old records. I am glad you are enjoying the Brazilian playlist. The Eliana Pittman tracks are magic! Appreciate you!!

I would love to see a video on arrangement and cool little stuff you do to spice up the beat. Don't own an mpc and don't understand what stuff you use so I can emulate on PC in my beats. Love the content and your passion for music.

Nice man. I know that Piccioni album really well. Great choice of sample. It's one of the few albums I have where I actually prefer the remaster. The original is quite muddy and weaker sounding. Talking about spending time away and listening to music, something I have started doing is sitting with my Zoom H6 with a load of tracks on the SD card that I have found from crate digging, but listening to them through my Live 2 on the sofa (sampler with monitor on). That way, if I hear something, I can immediately sample it. It is kind of my "best of both worlds" scenarios. I am away for my usual studio set up, but I still have access to chopping beats if I hear "that loop". A hybrid "Chill and Chop" scenario if you will lol. Cheers dude. Have a great day.

Thanks for your wisdom with beat making. I just found your channel and am enjoying your content. I'm an old head in hip hop and just getting started making beat using my MPC Studio. Where do you recommend a beginner to start with when approaching sampling?

Very nice beat, Ryan. I always learn so much by watching your videos. Thank you so much for sharing and for sharing your playlist. Italian soundtracks are some of my favorite. I adore Ennio Morricone! Happy Thanksgiving and Blessings.

Great advice man. I started to realize I’ve been missing out on the power of drum rolls and breaks. Toms not just kicks and snare. A hard ass open hi hat and crashes

@@RYANMAKESBEATS great choice of tracks, i really appreciate. however there are some tracks that I don't understand why you chose. Like for example number 5 and 32 on italian playlist. would you consider choosing one of these samples for a beatmaking video?

I’ve gotten burnt out on chopping and manipulating samples lately. I love that I play piano. I was doing that far before I started created music, so it’s always something (peaceful) to fall back on.

I agree with you however I don't believe this is always the case, I listen to a lot of music especially when I was working full-time and when the pandemic hit I lost my job and quit listening to music for a while and it actually helped me find a lot of inspiration because I was starting to get discouraged and hearing so many great artists and so many different styles, it was starting to make me feel like anything I do has already been done so many times before that it just didn't sound good so for me I had to quit listening to music so that I could just focus on making music and not worrying about whether or not it sounded like someone else's music, in the past 2 years I have listened to music of course since I took a break for a bit I have also managed to make over 150 tracks and they do not all sound the same by any means. But this is also due to my massive amount of time already spent listening to music so it wasn't like I had not gotten ideas from hearing other artists, theres so many great artists, like an endless amount of great music now a days, it's amazing but also a bit deflating when you're trying to get noticed
