I would Just like to say thank you and your good lady for this video because I am the kind of person who thinks of the comfort of my only pillion ( my wife !!) It was great to hear the honesty of your pillion and what you had changed to make things much more comfortable for the pillion. I look forward to seeing more of your videos and greeting from Swanage Dorset in the United Kingdom
A few years back I took my girlfriend on a 1,000 mile round trip on a Sportster. After putting a Progressive suspension(front/rear) and a HD Sundowner seat.. it’s was a really good time. No more bottoming out! Only issue was the lack of wind protection and not having that 6th gear on the highway. She hated that bike before I changed it and asked to go all the time after.
Please do a video about being a passenger! We just got a Softail and the wife wants to start riding with me. I've never rode 2 up and I want to learn good habits!
Took our first ride with my wife today on the Step-Up and she was comfortable for about 10 minutes and then it started hurting, and it even has the gel insert in the passenger area! I might have to do the same and get the wider one when money allows
Man this is a good video! My wife wants us to get a new heritage in the 114 but I was worried about her comfort on the softail platform for the longer rides. We wanna do some much longer trips.
The biggest issues you'll find are the seat (I recommend Mustang for the Heritage and touring models), and suspension. Ohlin's and Legends are the cream of the crop, I steer towards Legends because they're American made and warranty/ customer service are the gold standard of what a company should strive for. After that, it's gonna be trial and error on finding the sissy bar that gives your wife the most comfort.
I'm considering a similar setup for a LRS. My wife and I are the same height - about 5'7". Do you find that the Explorer seat on the LRS places the passenger too much higher than the driver? It looks to me like the driver and passenger seat heights on a Softail are significantly different than, say, a Road Glide.
The height differences are actually pretty good. As the driver, you'll be low enough that ground clearance isn't an issue. As the passenger she'll be high enough that your helmets aren't knocking into each other, and she'll have a field of vision to help you look for road hazards.
Nice video. Great riding day by the looks. Good to actually here from the passenger. Leaving sports bike world and looking at a softail. Do not want the big bagger. Not ready for something that size or a rolling couch. Lol. Wife says she will ride but I only see fair weather and weekends. So maybe 20% of the time. So I still want a bike that works for me. I like the slim s or a deluxe. Nice video work and thanks for sharing! Shining side up 😎
old people driving? you were talking away and ran right up their butt and almost wrecked for your little video😂Facts. And remember if your lucky you might be old one day......
Yup, kinda like the point of these videos is to talk, eh? 😉 Facts. And remember, there was a time when you were young and had fun too... Thanks for watching "my little video" in the first place though 👍🏻
She should definitely get a bike, anything with two wheels is cool, hopefully she's not thinking sportster tho haha, I really like the 2020 triumph t120 black.
I'm a Harley dude, they just fit me. I say that so there's no misconceptions about me being a "fan boy". Where I'm at I'm seeing a lot of smaller riders, especially women, gravitating to the Indian Scout line up. They're to small for me to be comfortable on, but I've taken a couple out for spins, and helping my ridin' bro figure out if some feelz he was getting were suppose to be there. Impressive bikes, for sure.

Hey man awesome video. I am wondering what your setup is with the bars, risers, and gauge relocation? I would like the same. Thanks!

Definitely something I would love to do in the future so stay tuned! 😁
Great words, Leah!
Love the 192, SB represent!

It’s been a great way to go! How long have you had the step up? They do require some break-in for sure
Nice seat 👍🏽 i would personally go for corbin for comfort..but saddlemen does the job too.
I’ve heard great things about the Corbin seats as well! I’ve been happy with my saddlemen but I’m always looking to try different styles to compare 👍🏻
@@CassidyCarson nice 🙂👍🏽
So from what I can tell. You have a saddlemen explorer. How do you both like it ?
So good for the passenger! Not bad for the rider 👍🏻
What kind of seat are you using?

That’s awesome! Like we said in the video, it’s definitely doable with the right setup! 😊

You are correct, sir. Glad a fellow hoser is enjoying the channel! 👍🏻
What softail is this bike in your video?
2020 FXLRS
Honda shadow, good first bike
Nice riding and information on 2 up. But, the silly music over the sound of your words and bike sucks.
She should definitely get a bike, anything with two wheels is cool, hopefully she's not thinking sportster tho haha, I really like the 2020 triumph t120 black.
Love the the triumphs too! She’s definitely looked at a few of those 👍🏻
