The the pivot screw sunk into the scale is unusual but effective. I have seen it before and considered it a defect (in that case I think it was, from fitting new scales to an original frame; I believe it has been corrected), but of course Ray does it much better!
I don’t understand why most manufacturers resist transitioning from T6 to T8 screws, in most cases. They make a small difference in appearance, but a large difference in reliability (I haven’t actually had much trouble with T6s, but many people do)! I actually like the appearance of the more rugged screw, and I like not having to worry quite so much about stripping a socket.
I’d trade my 10 cheap EDC knives for one of these in a hot second. It’s like a refined, super high-end Penguin. I love that blade style it’s great for utility stuff you carry a blade for.
I got one of these just the other week, I was SO disappointed on arrival, the action was crazy gritty. I was expecting something as smooth as their Old Guards or Rosalinda. I took it apart and polished the washers on a strop, and played with it for a while and it got so much better. It's smoothed out so incredibly, still not on par with the Rosalinda or Old Guards but feels very similar to my CRK Small Inkosi, I think it has nothing to do but to get better. In terms of blade shape, I love the look of their wharnies, but they really are not as thin behind the edge as their Drop Points, the Rosalinda has the same issue with the Spear/Drop Point hybrid. Overall it's quickly becoming my favorite MBK. I do think I would prefer their ZDP-189 or K390 over Magnacut on this, just personally. As far as the comments about Sandford Owen, they are spot on, he's just the nicest guy, I would 100% have faith that MBK has my back and will answer any question and fast. I'm probably gonna pick up an ECZ and Slayback soon, such good knives, been wondering who their OEM is that's popping out their China mades since they're also amazing.
Slayback and wharncliff old guard are really nice. Zdp189 is wicked. Don't have the otter or lion or Rosalina but one day. Pretty sure its reate on the lower tier stuff.
Just wondering why this blade isn’t called a sheepsfoot? My understanding is a wharnecliffe blade has a straight edge. It looks like a sheepsfoot to me.
Where is the best place to find out about and get in on the lottery? The lottery website seems stuck in January. I was told they do every Wednesday but the last two weeks I haven’t seen anything about it. What am I missing?
Starting to get some knives I guess I have the bug though I wish I didn’t because all the knives I would like to have cost a fortune and $300-$600 is a fortune to me and Monterey bay knives have sold out on all there products so I don’t really mind can’t afford them anyway can you not get a high end knive under $200 or that asking too much 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Ray Laconico may not be the only designer I like, but I like almost everything he designs. He is without doubt my favorite knife designer.
I scored this knife a month ago and it’s definitely slowed down my knife purchases…broke in like your favorite boots❤probably my favorite
That's a beautiful thing!

I got a Rosalinda, but this one has eluded me. One day I'll get one.
Finally a knife that isn’t a button lock or a flipper! Real bummer it’s hard to get.

I wish that I could land one of these
Too bad it's so hard to get them.
