- The final completed commission of the year. This fine pair of stained glass door panels are completed and ready for collection. I don't think I couldn't of picked a more colourful project to end this pretty flipping awesome 2023. I also wanted to say a huge thank you to all the kindness from all you guys with the support and well wishes.

That reminds me my father who imported full crates of antique glass from England in the 80s for his passion, stained glass. Nice work !

Haha not quite, I get lots free empty buckets from the builders downstairs in the building I use them to store my cement 😂🍻

Is it just me or did the colors come out stronger after cementing?
I always think this also. I'm sure it feels that way once all the lead work is blacken and polishing, I think it just kinda frames the glass pieces 💙💜❤️

It's gorgeous!! I love all the colors you used, even the orange, which I'm not a big fan of, generally. I am enthralled with how you break most of your glass with your hands and not running pliers or groziers!! About how much does the lead stretch, an inch or so? Yep about an inch and a half, sometimes a bit more, depending on the thickness of the lead. Cheers for all the support 🫶
Given the assembly technique for stained glass and the lead used to join the individual pieces, I am bewildered why the Rose windows in Notre Dame were spared. With lead having a melting temp of 625 degrees or so, I would have thought the panels would have fallen out in mass.
Stronger than they look aren't they! 😉

Oof! What do you use? I don’t like what I have available in my area. It has multiple hazard warnings on the product and people in the craft here are dismissive. They’ve “been using it for years.”
I mix my own cement but it's a very similar recipe to the ones you can find with a Google search for leaded light window cement recipe 🍻
I like the presentation method, no talking just subtitles. When you watch a true craftsman at work his or her mouth isn’t moving, only the hands, plus no music. That’s the worst way to do an instructional video.

That wavy green glass 🤩 do you ever get little cuts from handling the glass without gloves?
😂 I appreciate it does look like with all the glass cutting my workshop should look like a bloodbath. Honestly if you handle the glass correctly it's quite safe. So occasionally I'll pickup the odd little nick but it's nothing to worry about 😉🫶

I have been watching you for a long time and I just love your artwork I don’t know why they ever stopped using stain glass because I just love it and I can’t wait to afford to buy some of your work , i love butterflies so maybe something like that

You obviously know what you're doing....I just kept asking why isn't he cutting the length of metal all the way down the line he's tracing. Lol. Would that not be easier? How much pressure do you have to use to cut the glass? It can't be easy to follow such curved lines when cutting the glass. You are a man of an old craft and that is awesome!!! Hats off to you!
The pressure is often alot more gentle than people expect. But if it's tricky cut often helps if you dip the wheel in alittle oil first 👍
