I went through brain surgery almost 2 years ago, shortly before that, I heard this song for the first time at church. It was one we sang quite frequently, including the Sunday before surgery, when our congregation gathered around us to lay hands on my family and pray for me. I was never able to get through it without tears leading up to surgery, even though when I went into surgery, my mind was at complete peace. I then came out of it better than even the surgeon anticipated, and he "graduated" me from his care early due to how well I "came out of the process". That is what happens when you have at least 12 churches praying for you, not to mention all of "FB Land"! Then, the Sunday before my Nana passed away, about a year and a half ago, we sang this song at church again. Once again, what a peace of mind it brought to me, when I needed it the most!

The words, "He will hold me fast", meaning we are saved and kept for Christ forever! This is denied by many, but we don't have to live without assurance! I just found these guys! I have been struggling to find authentic worship music and this is ANOINTED and BIBLICALLY SOUND! The Lord convicted me of listening to Bethel and Elevation and Hillsong as well as the other secular "Christian" artists. I am so happy to worship my Saviour in spirit and in truth!!!

I have missed singing the old scripture-based and God-focused hymns I grew up with and heard my mother sing to encourage her soul during her work day. This is, I believe, a hymn that will last more than a decade because it is scripturally sound and God focused (rather than self-centered as much contemporary worship music is). A great blessing to us.🙏

After listening to all these songs, I feel so overwhelmed about how I just keep taking from God. I just take and take but haven't yet learnt prompt obedience despite all the ways He has made Himself shown to me. I was giving importance to all other things and had fallen in the hands of sort of a religious spirit - from what I felt. But now God is touching my heart in a real and true manner where I see Him as a person who has brought wonderful things to me.

Take this in whatever way you wish. I am so glad to see strong male-led worship. I am worn out with women singing about wanting Jesus to be their boyfriend. The ladies tend to sing, "Jesus hold me." The ladies need an answer to their need for emotional comfort. What the ladies sing is legitimate for them. Men tend to sing, "Jesus hold me fast, hold me up to the warfare, help me stand against the kingdom of darkness, help me to gain for Your Kingdom." What Shane & Shane sings is legitimate for the men of God who view life completely differently from how the ladies see it - generally speaking. This is strong, intimate, male-led worship and I thank God for it.
I've been dealing with some type of attack. Might be psychological, maybe spiritual, where I am gripped in absolute panic and terror when night falls. So much fear thar it makes me physically ill all night. Can't breathe, can't pray anything except "Lord, don't let us (my husband and me) die." My mind gets trapped in a spiral of imagining the most random, irrational, one in a million types of death occuring while we sleep, and it keeps me awake. I'm not sure what this is, or how much longer I can take this. I'm just trying to lean on these Scriptures and songs, and make it through this battle.

After listening to all these songs, I feel so overwhelmed about how I just keep taking from God. I just take and take but haven't yet learnt prompt obedience despite all the ways He has made Himself shown to me. I was giving importance to all other things and had fallen in the hands of sort of a religious spirit - from what I felt. But now God is touching my heart in a real and true manner where I see Him as a person who has brought wonderful things to me.

Take this in whatever way you wish. I am so glad to see strong male-led worship. I am worn out with women singing about wanting Jesus to be their boyfriend. The ladies tend to sing, "Jesus hold me." The ladies need an answer to their need for emotional comfort. What the ladies sing is legitimate for them. Men tend to sing, "Jesus hold me fast, hold me up to the warfare, help me stand against the kingdom of darkness, help me to gain for Your Kingdom." What Shane & Shane sings is legitimate for the men of God who view life completely differently from how the ladies see it - generally speaking. This is strong, intimate, male-led worship and I thank God for it.

I've been dealing with some type of attack. Might be psychological, maybe spiritual, where I am gripped in absolute panic and terror when night falls. So much fear thar it makes me physically ill all night. Can't breathe, can't pray anything except "Lord, don't let us (my husband and me) die." My mind gets trapped in a spiral of imagining the most random, irrational, one in a million types of death occuring while we sleep, and it keeps me awake. I'm not sure what this is, or how much longer I can take this. I'm just trying to lean on these Scriptures and songs, and make it through this battle.

How many prophetic words did you release over my life? 20, 30? Indeed you gave me more prophecies than anyone I have ever met. Prophets from around the world spoke over my life in that season. South Africa, West Africa, America, men and women both singled me out in conferences to release the Word of the Lord over my life. And Father the Bible tells me that all prophecies are tested until the day of fulfillment. And isn't it true that my life has been exceedingly more difficult and narrow than any of my peers? And didn't you give me the Word of Knowledge many times throughout the years in the churches you have sent me about where they should repent? And you showed me things to come? Didn't you give me more revelation than any of my teachers? And didn't you tell me you had to refine me? And didn't you tell me I was ready?Fulfill your Word to me Lord for I know they are true. I know you tested my character to see if I would follow man or you. And didn't you promise me that I would continue to move in humility of heart but not lowliness of esteem. You must fulfill your promises. That's who you are. I am placing a demand on your faithfulness. I am placing a demand on your might. I am placing a demand on your kindness, your goodness, your gentleness, your ability to see that I'm like grass here today and gone tomorrow. Please move Lord.
Tonight, in my life, I find myself saying you must be God in my life. All these years I have to stood for your Word, for your covenant, for your power. I am not tempting Him. I am simply saying that He is the only one that can be God in my life. He is the only one that can show me I hear rightly; thar his favor and anointing are on me and in me. I don't want to treat God as common as ordinary bereft of strength and might.
